Christine Crow

Christine Crow, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2022 at her home. She was born April 10, 1948 in Terrell to WA and Hazel Gheen, both of whom preceded her in death along with her brother, Randolph Gheen. Christine graduated from Rockwall High School in 1966 and on December 30 that same year, she married the love of her life, Bill, in Rockwall. Together, they raised a beautiful family that, with each generation, proved to Christine that she had the most blessed life. She worked faithfully with the Forney ISD in their food services, retiring as Director of Food Service in 2015 after 36 years of dedicated employment. Her personality, which was made up of equal parts of dependability, vivaciousness, loyalty and love made her an amazing wife and mother (and later grandmother) and a beloved friend and colleague. There was not one person that, upon meeting Christine, didn’t walk away encouraged and joyful at her smile and her way of always making others feel like they truly mattered. Her kindness to others was the first thing people noticed about her along with her selfless generosity. A beautiful woman who treasured her family and friends, she will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Christine is survived by husband of almost 57 years, Willie “Bill” Crow, Jr., of Forney; daughter, Christi Dianne Peavy and husband, Clifton, of San Angelo; son, Gary Don Crow of Forney; grandchildren: Clayton Peavy and wife, Blair, Ashley Peskuski and husband, Jay, Jason Peavy and wife, Brianna, Jessica Smith and husband Tyler; great grandchildren: Lynlee, Briley, Amelia, Canaan, Chanley, Theodore, Laiken, Madeline, and Jensyn; siblings: Tommy Joe Gheen and wife, Anna, Dianne High and husband, Kenneth, Penny Odell and husband, Dennis, Nanette Lewis and husband, Marty; sister-in-law, Sue Gheen as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and cherished friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas. Her family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm to service time.
