Dennisa Moore

Dennisa Lynn Moore, of Canton, TX, passed away on July 19, 2021. Dennisa was born October 20, 1966 in Grand Saline, TX. She was met in Heaven by her beloved husband, Larry Don Moore, Jr., and father, Dennis Wood, mother, Frankie Sue Burran and her grandparents. Dennisa grew up in Grand Saline and Terrell during her younger years. She married her best friend and soul mate, Larry, on June 2, 1984 and together they had 35 wonderful years of raising their family with love and laughter until his passing on Oct. 22, 2019. Dennisa had so many varied interests that made her a truly exceptional lady to get to know. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and quilting, music, dancing, and photography. She also had an eye for making living areas more beautiful and functional and she was a talented interior designer with remodeling skills to help any room become charming and welcoming. She was also interested in wood working and she and Larry would often find projects to fix up and bring back to the natural beauty that she could always see. Dennisa’s eye for beauty enabled her to be a successful cosmetologist for over 25 years and she owned a salon in Forney for many years with the last eight years in Mesquite as a small business owner. The outdoors were also a favorite of Dennisa’s and she made sure to take every opportunity she could to travel (especially to Tennessee which was her favorite destination) to many new places where she would often find new dishes to make at home, birds to watch in natural settings or decorating ideas to share with family and friends. She was an avid gardener, loving plants and flowers that made every inch of her home a calming oasis to entertain family and friends. She was a lovely lady with an outgoing personality and a smile that could light up every room and she will be missed greatly by her family and friends, all of whom take comfort that she is reunited with her adored husband, Larry. Dennisa is survived by her children: Tosha Brown and husband, Bradley, of Canton, Chase Moore and wife, Bethany, of Forney; grandchildren: Brock Moore, Braylon Brown, Harley Moore, Leighton Sorey, Cade Moore, and Brant Brown; brothers: Dennis Wood, Jr. and wife, Holly of Edgwood, Jamie Wood and wife, Misty of Jourdanton, TX; sister, Denonda Martinez and husband, Joe, of Garland; her father’s wife, Leatrice Wood of Mesquite as well as her late husband’s parents, Larry Moore, Sr. and wife, Joan, of Terrell along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A celebration of life is being planned by Dennisa’s family for a later date and will be announced as soon as details are arranged.
