Janis Weeden

Janis Weeden, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on the morning of May 28, 2017. Janis was welcomed into Heaven by her Savior and her mother, Ethel Francis, father, Marvin Francis and her son, Michael Don Valentine. She was born on May 16, 1939 in Van Alstyne, Tx to Marvin and Eunice Ethel (Beall) Francis and she attended schools in Van Alstyne, Sherman and Dallas. She worked for, and retired after 15 years of dedicated service from, Motion Industries. A devoted Christian, Janis was a member of Park Row Church of Christ in Arlington where she loved to serve others and her Lord. Above all else, Janis enjoyed time with her family and they were her pride and joy. Her unconditional love for them enabled her to be a steadfast supporter in all their endeavors whether they be big or small. Her caring heart knew no bounds and Janis took care of family making it her first priority. She was the primary caretaker for her mother for years giving the best example of selfless love to others. She enjoyed all genres of music and getting to make memories singing with family were her some of her favorite times in her life. Janis’ class and elegance as well her seemingly effortless ability to always be perfectly dressed and made up no matter the occasion will always be remembered by the ones that knew and loved her. A beautiful woman, inside and out, Janis will be missed dearly by all whose lives she touched. She leaves to carry on her legacy of love her children: Sherry Mallios and husband, John of Waxahachie, Ronnie Valentine and wife, Peggy of Terrell, Gary Valentine and wife, Karon of Forney, and Vicki Stearns of Arlington; grandchildren: Jonathon, Justin, Aaron, Christi, Haley, Autumn, Jeremy, Joshua, Jordon, and Ryan; great grandchildren: Taylor, Andy, Ellianna, Izabella, Caeden, Collin, Conner, Jordon, Jr., Jaxon, Kaitlynn, Ruby Bell, Michelle, and Joshua; her beloved friend, Pam Kirk as well as other extended family members and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Terrell with Dr. Bob Price officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Tuesday, May 30, at First Baptist Church.
