Kimberlyn Leigh Stryker

Kimberlyn Leigh Stryker passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of her Lord on November 22, 2021 surrounded by her family. Kim was born on February 6, 1958 in Terrell, Texas to Harold Leigh and Sally Dozier Leigh and lived in Terrell her entire life. Kim was welcomed into heaven by her Dad, Harold Leigh, and her grandparents, Ralph & Ada Tankersley and Lewis & Christine Dozier. She grew up in Terrell and attended Terrell High School where she was a proud Terrell Tigerette, cheerleader and member of the National Honor Society. Kim made many friends in high school that she kept for life. She treasured these friendships and spoke often of her friends and many memories made at the Terrell Boat Club. She graduated from Terrell High School in 1976. Kim loved to swim and was a natural at it. She was a competitive member of the Dallas Swim Team and you could see her beautiful smile at the Terrell Country Club where she worked as a lifeguard every summer. A member of The First Christian Church, Kim served faithfully as a junior deacon and gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She was very active in the youth group, took many trips with Boy Scout Troup 390 and was known to have a mean “spike” on the volleyball court. Many memories were made with family and friends in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado where Kim loved to ski and hike and enjoy God’s beautiful creation. Kim and her devoted husband, Mitch, could be found at the lake or traveling where Kim found the most pleasure and enjoyment in the simple things of life. An avid rock collector, Kim brought home rocks from any and every trip. At the time of her passing, Kim worked at Madix, Inc., where she was loved by all. Her untouched desk covered with flowers is a testimony to the friendship and warm smile that Kim offered freely to her coworkers and friends. Kim had an old soul with a rare, calm demeanor and the uncanny ability to bring peace to any situation. She lived in the moment and made the most of every opportunity. She had a wonderful sense of humor and the gift of laughter. Her laughter and gentle spirit will be missed the most. Kim was a precious daughter and spent many lunch hours at her mothers home “checking in” to make sure all was well. Kim is survived by her mother, Sally Leigh, loving husband, Mitch Stryker, her children, Matthew Robinson & wife, Cheri, Joshua Robinson, and Jeni Newton. Sister Chris Thomas and brother, Jon Leigh & wife, Stacey. Twelve grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews and relatives. Memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel. Family will be receiving friends beginning at 3:00 p.m. until service time.
