Lori Cook Walsh

Lori (“Cookie”) Cook Walsh, age 58, of Royse City Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Medical City after a courageous battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis and lung disease complications. Lori was born on August 30, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Bill and Jean Jones. Lori became a Mom to her biggest fan, Kami in 1985. She married her best friend of ten years on August 20, 2021 and gained her bonus daughter, Memory. Lori loved all things Harley Davidson and worked for their Financial Department for 25 years. She loved to shop and hide her bags from Jerry. When Amazon was created shopping became one click away and the delivery driver unknowingly became an accomplice to more packages hidden from Jerry. Canning was something she loved to do with family and friends on a Saturday. Her favorite day of the week was Sunday, when she cooked a “Sunday Funday” meal for her family. Cooking was her favorite way to take care of those she loved. Her love language was spoiling her grandsons with gifts. She was such a giving friend and even if it was her last of something, it was yours. Lori loved listening to Texas Country Music at Sweetwater Grill with her family and friends. You could always find her on the dance floor or jamming with her finger in the air while only having three drinks. Lori loved having her feet in the sand on the beach at Port Aransas. She was pretty sneaky of giving wet willies to those she loved. She was a Jesus follower, taco lover, nap taker. She even had the shirt to prove it. Lori loved life large, family and friends… she loved hard!! She was greeted in Heaven by her father Bill Jones; brother Byron (“BJ”) Jones; furbaby Sissy Walsh; mother-in-law Linda Van Duyse; niece Meagan Davis and niece Mallory Davis. Lori is survived by her husband, Jerry Walsh: furbaby Teeter Walsh; daughter Kami Dodd and husband Brandon; daughter Memory Walsh and Colten; grandsons Jayton, Kenzler and Layne; mom Jean Jones; sister Kathy Fowler and husband Mike; Sister-in-law Vicki Jones; Sister-in-law Mary Davis and husband Jerry; nephew Michael Fowler and wife Bekah; nephew Terry Fowler and wife Amy; nephew Jordan Davis; niece Holli Torres and husband Paul; nephew Brent Jones and wife Lauren; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and an abundance of friends that were family. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00am, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 at Radiant Church, 19830 I-20, Canton, TX, 75103 where her legacy will be shared by all who knew and loved her.
