Maria Gonzalez

Maria DeJesus Diaz Gonzalez, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early hours of August 16, 2024. She was born in Ocampo, Mexico on March 4, 1946, to Jesus and Alejandra Diaz. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Juan Diaz. Maria grew up in Mexico where she met the love of her life, Juan Gonzalez. Wed on September 19, 1966, they began their lives together building their family and embarking on a journey that led them to Rockwall, Texas in November of 1966. Many fond memories came from Rockwall In the early 1970s, Maria and Juan found themselves in their forever home in Terrell, Texas. Maria was a matriarch, the center of the household, and the home for love. She loved her family and feeding them was her passion. If anyone came into her house feeling happy, sad, angry, or just hungry, Maria would feed them both physically and spiritually. She had a fondness for cooking and her recipes were enjoyed by many. Anyone who ate her cooking could taste the love coming from each delightful dish. The nurturing personality Maria had was not limited to just her family. She was a caring, nurturing, loving mother to all. She was a teacher and mentor to anyone who needed it. She remembered every detail and knew exactly how to make someone feel valued and loved. Her garden and flowers received the same care. Her plants were beautiful and appreciated by many. She enjoyed sitting on the porch just gazing at her bright flowers and evolving them from small seeds to giant beauties. If she was not on the porch admiring all the greenery, she could be found watching her novelas with her kids. Every heart she touched beamed with warmth simply by her smile. Her warm, welcoming hugs and kisses were freely shared and remembered. Left to treasure and carry on her stories are her loving husband, Juan M. Gonzalez Sr. ; children: Felipe Gonzalez; Juan M. Gonzalez Jr. , and wife Blanca; Ramiro Gonzalez and wife, Veronica; Romy Lopez; Enrique Gonzalez and wife, Brenda; Dino Gonzalez and wife Patricia; Daniel Gonzalez and wife, Claudia; and Veronica Rodriguez and husband, Jose. Also left to remember her are her sisters: Lupe Torres, Martina Prado, Leonor Prado, Ignacia Gutierrez, Carmela Diaz; brothers: Jose Diaz, Mariano Diaz; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends. There are not enough words to describe how special she truly was. Her absence will be felt by many. María de Jesús Díaz González, amada esposa, madre, hermana, abuela y bisabuela, falleció pacíficamente en las tempranas horas Viernes del 16 de Agosto de 2024. Ella nació en Ocampo, México, el 4 de Marzo de 1946, hija de Jesús y Alejandra Díaz. Ella fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres y su hermano mayor, Juan Díaz. María creció en México, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Juan M. González. El 19 de Septiembre de 1966, comenzaron sus vidas juntos construyendo su familia y embarcándose en un viaje que los llevó a Rockwall, Texas, en noviembre de 1966. Muchos lindos y buenos recuerdos vinieron de Rockwall. A principios de la década de 1970, María y Juan se encontraron en su hogar para siempre en Terrell, Texas. María era una matriarca, el centro de la casa y el hogar del amor. Ella amaba a su familia y alimentarlos era su pasión. Si alguien entraba en su casa sintiéndose feliz, triste, enojado o simplemente con hambre, María los alimentaría tanto físicamente como espiritualmente. Le gustaba cocinar y muchos disfrutaron de sus recetas. Cualquiera que comiera su comida podía saborear el amor que viene de cada platillo delicioso. La personalidad cariñosa que tenía María no se limitaba solo a su familia. Ella era una madre cariñosa, Enriquecedora y amorosa para todos. Ella era maestra y mentora de cualquiera que lo necesitara. Ella siempre recordó cada detalle y sabía exactamente cómo hacer que alguien se sintiera valorado y amado. Su jardín y sus flores recibieron el mismo amor y atención. Sus plantas eran hermosas y apreciadas por muchos. Ella disfrutó sentada en el porche mirando sus flores brillantes evolucionando de pequeñas semillas a bellezas gigantes. Si no estuviera en el porche admirando toda las flores, se le podría encontrar viendo sus novelas con sus hijos o amistades. Cada corazón que tocó irradiaba de calidez simplemente por su sonrisa. Sus cálidos y acogedores abrazos y besos fueron compartidos y recordados libremente. Quedan para atesorar su memoria y continuar sus historias son su esposo, Juan M. González; sus hijos: Felipe González; Juan M. González Jr. y su esposa Blanca; Ramiro González y su esposa, Verónica; Romy López; Enrique González y su esposa, Brenda; Dino González y su esposa Patricia; Daniel González y su esposa, Claudia; y Verónica Rodríguez y su esposo, José. También quedan para recordarla a sus hermanas: Lupe Torres, Martina Prado, Leonor Prado, Ignacia Gutiérrez, Carmela Díaz; hermanos: José Díaz, Mariano Díaz; 20 nietos; 4 bisnietos junto con muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, familia extendida y queridos amigos. No hay suficientes palabras para describir lo especial que ella era realmente. Su ausencia será sentida por muchos. Services for Maria will be held at 10:30am for the Recitation of the Rosary and 11:00am, for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday, August 23, 2024, at St. John the Apostle church in Terrell, Texas with interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Thursday, August 22, at the Max Slayton Funeral Chapel.
