Whitney Wilson Munoz

Whitney Michelle Munoz, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, family member and friend, passed away on August 20, 2017. Whitney was born in Terrell on May 16, 1985 to her proud and loving parents, Ronnie and Pam Wilson, and she was a blessing to all who knew her. Whitney was met in Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus, as well as her grandparents: Roy Gene Thompson, Robert and Doris Wilson, grandfather, great grandfather, Don Slade, uncles, Keith Slade and Ricky Wilson and her mother-in-law, Cristina Aldape Cortez. Whitney had a spirit of selflessness that was immediately noticed by everyone who met her. She made sure that others were taken care of first and her heart for others was easily seen in every day of her life. Whitney graduated from Yantis High School as valedictorian of her class and she was a 2015 graduate of Texas A&M-Commerce receiving her Bachelor’s degree while, at the same time, working full time and raising her family. Whitney valued the ability to learn and she was continuing her academics currently with classes towards her Masters degree. She worked at Madix to 2014 and, just recently, she and her family had moved to Bedford for an opportunity to work in her degree field of computer science and software development where she was the Principal Software Developer at Sabre Technology. Her family was her greatest blessing and she was devoted to her husband, Carlos, and a loving mother to her beautiful daughters, Juliana and Gabrella. As much as her kindness filled every part of her life, Whitney could also be counted on to be loyal, honest, trustworthy and, above all, genuine with each person in her life. She absorbed knowledge readily and could be found reading any book on any subject so as to “always know more”. She had a drive to always be the best she could be and her example of always achieving what she set out to do will continue on in each person who loved her as a testament to her life. Even until the time God called her home, Whitney gave to others. Her courageous decision to be a donor has ensured that others will receive a gift of life that will also help to continue Whitney’s legacy of love and caring. Whitney leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Carlos Munoz; children: Juliana and Gabrella Munoz; parents: Ronnie and Pam Wilson; sister, Courtney Wilson; nieces: Camree Wilson, Brooke, Lexi and Peyton Thompson; grandmother, Jenny Thompson; great grandmother, Clara Dean Slade; uncles: Slade Thompson, John Wilson; aunts: Jean Maddux, Sheila Slade, Mary Allison, and Kathy Wilson; special cousin, Zachary Poynter and other loved cousins: Stacy Michelle Payne, Windy Rupert, Shane Wilson, Shad Wilson, Sarita Grant, Sasha Kirkpatrick, Brian Wilson, and Wade Wilson; father-in-law, Agapito Munoz as well as many loving members of the Munoz family, countless extended family, a host of friends and many colleagues, all of whom loved her and respected her greatly. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm, Friday, August 25, 2017 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 11:00am to service time. Interment will be at Campground Cemetery following funeral service. Immediately following the committal service at Campground, the family will gather for a reception at Ables Spring Volunteer Fire Department, 3000 FM 429 North, Terrell, Tx, 75161.
