Amber Massey

Amber Dawn Massey passed away on January 1, 2026. She was born on June 14, 1985, to Michael and Denise Massey in Dallas, Texas. Amber is preceded in death by her father, Mike; grandparents: L.H. and Bobbie Helen Renfro and grandmother, Dena Massey. Amber’s vibrant personality was truly one of a kind. She found she had the culinary touch and blessed Rockwall with her cake-decorating gift at Kroger in the bakery department for 17 years, where she formed many lifelong friendships and created countless cherished memories. Afterward, she spent a year working at the bakery department in Brookshire’s in Greenville, sharing her knowledge and skillset. Amber’s love for cooking—especially baking—was truly exceptional. She proudly coined herself the family baker, delighting everyone with her delicious masterpieces and ensuring every family member received a special birthday cake made just for them. Amber had the “what you see is what you get” manner of her father, and while she loved to laugh, she had a fire in her when it came to those she loved. She cared deeply for her family and friends and loved wholeheartedly. As an aunt, she was amazing—always making sure her nieces and nephews knew how cherished they were. Amber had a sweet soul and a giving heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her family feels blessed to have had such a beautiful sister, daughter, and aunt in their lives. Amber is survived by her mothers, Denise Massey and Kimberly Massey; siblings: Michael Massey (Tammie), Chelsea Chappell (Frank Evers), Cody Chappell and Cassandra Rodenberg; nieces and nephews: Taylor, Nathan, Logan, Evelyn, Reid, and Taeah; grandfather, M.H. Massey; aunt, Kim Lacey (Kern); uncle, Mitch Massey (Tonya); Royce Renfro (Donna), and Brenda Beasley as well as cousins and other extended family and a host of friends, each of whom will continue to carry Amber in their heart. Amber was an advocate for pulmonary hypertension awareness, dedicated to spreading knowledge about the condition. Services for Amber will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas with an interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the funeral home.
