Barbara Sue Craft Burnett

Barbara Sue Craft Burnett, 86, of Wills Point, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at home with family by her side. Barbara Sue was born in Iowa Park, Texas, to John Henry Craft and Ruby Fay Jones Craft on August 15, 1938. She was met in Heaven by her daddy, mother, sister, brothers, and many friends and family. She went to Terrell High School, where she met the love of her life, Duke Graydon Burnett. They married on December 17, 1960, in Terrell. She went to East Texas State, where she attended school and worked for 2 years. She was an excellent secretary and record keeper for her family's and friends' events, appointments, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Anyone she prayed for or who told her about an event went into her calendar. Duke and Sue moved frequently in their married life. In each city they lived, she was involved in their church. She was an active parent when their children were born, always volunteering. She made everyone she met feel loved and loved her kids' friends like they were her own. Barbara Sue was specific to say in her notes, "I am survived by my loving husband & caretaker for life, Duke Graydon; my Four Fantastic children Terri Burnett Davenport and husband Scott of Wills Point, Texas; John Graydon Burnett and wife Molly of Allen, Texas; Lori Burnett Robertson of Birmingham, Alabama; and Jana Burnett Vogel and husband Joshua of Flower Mound, Texas. Ten Terrific grandchildren - Lauren Davenport McGowen (Mack); Robert Price Davenport (Marie); Justin Ryan Davenport (Michelle); Travis Glenn Burnett (Lindsay); Chase Graydon Burnett (Cait); James Cole Burnett; Gray Daniel Robertson; Mary Frances Robertson; Joshua Caleb Vogel; and Arianna Suaye Vogel. And to date, eight Great-Grandchildren- Sheridan Faye, Addie Jane, and Mackie McGowen; Avery Lynn, John Kingsley, and Charlie Gayle Burnett; Raelyn Michelle Squires and Ryan Price Davenport; and my Bestest Friend for Life, Jonnel Hopfer." The Memorial Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church Wills Point. Brother Ernie McCoulskey and Brother Phil Alford will officiate the service. Following the Celebration of Life, there will be a visitation time for family and friends in the Fellowship Hall. Instead of flowers, the family encourages you to make donations to the church or charity of your choice.
