Celso Rodriguez

Celso Rodriguez passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, surrounded by his family. Celso was born on April 6, 1949. He dedicated his life to Jehovah at the age of 38 and served faithfully as a congregation elder for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marta Laura Rodriguez, to whom he was married for 40 years; his children Alfredo, Natalie, and Fernando; his son-in-law Santiago, daughters-in-law Kiti and Sandra; his grandchildren Nadya, Luca, Christian and Alexandra; and his siblings Leticia, Julia, Antonio, Norma, Ramon, Lydia, and Mario. His nieces and nephews include Eunice and many others. Celso was known for being very hard-working and dynamic. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2006. Despite this, he made the effort to put Kingdom interests first in his life, and so began his regular pioneer service in 2009. It was not until the last three months of his life that his health began to deteriorate rapidly. Two weeks before he died, on one of his better days, he was sitting outside, and watching the rain fall he began to talk about the trees in the garden and the ones he plans to grow in the new world. Fruit trees of all kinds, and even a watermelon patch. Celso always chose the best watermelons! Brothers who served alongside him as an elder said that he was old in age, but not in heart. He and his wife Laura served as pioneers together and were always in the ministry, helping others however they could. Celso loved his family, friends, and above all Jehovah. He always told his loved ones to take care of each other and to take care of their relationship with Jehovah. Celso has run the race faithfully to the end and we know that he is now in the safest place: in the infinite memory of our Grand Creator and Father, Jehovah. How we long to see him again as a young man full of vigor and energy (Isaiah 35:6a; Job 33:25). And how grateful we are to Jehovah, who comforts us in all our trials through a "sure and firm" hope that is like an "anchor for the soul," a hope that does not disappoint, and who has supported us through our family and many friends in times of distress (Hebrews 6:19; Romans 5:5; Proverbs 17:1 A Celebration of Celso's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Terrell, Texas.
