Chris Branson

Christopher Anthony Branson, Chris to those who knew him, was called home to the Lord on June 21, 2024 in Richardson, Texas. Born on November 19, 1976 in Sunnyside, Washington, Chris walked this earth for 47 years leaving an incredible mark of kindness and service to others. Chris was a loving and faithful husband to his wife Naomie for 21 years, and a guiding light to his children Cody, Tyler, and Kaylee, teaching them the virtues of generosity and respect for all of creation. His joy was multiplied with the birth of his grandson, Timothy. He is also survived by his mother Malinda Branson, uncles, aunts, cousins, as well as sisters/brothers-in-law Andrea, Stephanie, Josh and Chris. His niece Madeline, and nephews Alexander, Vincent, and Tobias, and a host of treasured family members who will carry forward his legacy of love. He now joins his grandparents, Don and Delores Clevenger in eternal rest. Chris answered the call of duty, serving with honor in the U.S. Army, from September 8, 2005, until his medical retirement on August 8, 2013. He stood in solidarity with his brothers and sisters in arms, a veteran of the Iraqi War, Chris's military service was marked by the formation of lifelong friendships. Chris embodied the Army's core values of loyalty, duty, respect, and selfless service. He continued to carry on these values long after his retirement. Upon returning to civilian life, Chris continued his mission of service as a Community Supervision Officer in Lacey, WA, and going on to continue that career path in Dallas, Texas. With plans to further his education in the Mental Health field, his goal was to work with fellow veterans as a Counselor. Chris found solace in the embrace of nature, hunting and fishing with a spirit of gratitude for the Earth's abundance. He enjoyed college and professional football, making memories taking his son, Tyler, to watch games. His love and devotion to his community is a testament to his role as a pillar of strength, and support to those around him. A humble servant of God, Chris devoted his life to embodying the teachings of Christ, illustrating boundless love and compassion. His unwavering faith guided him through a life of service to others. Chris lived his beliefs, extending a hand to lift those around him. He was the first to offer help and assistance to anyone in need and a blessing to his neighbors and larger community in the aftermath of destructive storms. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2024 at 5:30 pm, at the Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ located at 407 N Rockwall Ave, Terrell, TX 75160. A reception will follow where stories of Chris's selfless deeds and heartfelt devotion can be shared. Additionally, a service will be held in Oregon to honor his military service and to commit his ashes to the land he so dearly loved. Details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations to honor Chris's legacy of generosity and service. In Chris's memory, we give thanks for the blessing of his presence in our lives, and for the lessons of humility and charity he imparted. His spirit continues to guide us, a beacon of God's love and mercy, forever loved, and never forgotten.
