Christie Buie

Christie Michelle Buie, lately of Dallas, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Savior on November 10, 2024. She was born Oct. 4, 1972 in Dallas to Nolan and Diann Buie. She was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Nolan, who preceded her in death. Christie worked as an office manager for Northwest ZooPath, a clinical lab located in Everson, WA that provided medical services for non-domestic animals. She loved her work and made many treasured friends among her colleagues, many of whom became as close as family. Christie worked there for 22 years and then continued her work remotely when she moved back to Texas in June of 2024. She moved back to Texas to be closer to family and fulfill a dream of owning her own home. Christie loved her family with all of her heart and went above and beyond to make every birthday, holiday and each special occasion seem like the most important event in the world for her friends and family. Her nieces and nephews became the joys of her life and spoiling them was her favorite pastime when she wasn’t pulling pranks on, and with, them! She made each one feel as though every milestone and accomplishment needed to be, and was, greatly celebrated. Christie also cherished the little moments and made time to play a video games, board games, help design costumes or even debate politics with each of them and made each one feel as though they were the most important person in the world to her. Holidays spent with family were a favorite and the White Elephant Christmas Exchange stories are shared, and laughed about, today. Christie loved the Texas Rangers and was a true and loyal fan, even through the “lean years” and took great joy in the sweet satisfaction of their winning the 2023 World Series. Her cheers could be heard by her family in Texas all the way from Washington when her team won that series! Riding motorcycles was also a passion and she loved modifying and riding her Yamaha Bolt. Her skills at modification enabled her to personally build and install multiple custom mods, many that received admiration from the riding community. While Texas was her first and last home, she made the most of her time in the Pacific Northwest. She loved kayaking, hiking and biking in the incredible beauty of Washington’s State Parks. As much as Christie loved the scenery, she loved the people even more. Our family is so incredibly thankful for Christie’s “adopted” family in Washington. It was always a great comfort knowing there were so many wonderful people loving her well and providing the hugs and companionship we were too far away to provide. There is a special love we will always have for her friends who became just like family, each of whom loved her so completely. Our family will always be eternally grateful for your kindness and friendship to Christie. Christie’s life, especially her final weeks on this side of heaven proved the faithfulness and truth of Jesus. During her time of deepest struggle, as her body began to betray her, she leaned completely into Jesus and He was her source of hope and comfort. She developed an intimacy with and passion for Jesus over these past few weeks that was comforting and inspiring. When everything else was stripped away it was her and Jesus and, for Christie, that was far more than enough, and that continues to be true as she sits in His presence today. Christie leaves her memory to be cherished by her mother, Diann Buie; and her siblings: Kevin Buie and wife, Charmey, Stacey Rocha and husband, James, Jason Buie and wife, Pamela as well as several beloved and treasured nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins along with other extended family, all of whom will greatly miss Christie. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am in the Forum on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Forney, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
