Chuck Armstrong

Charles “Chuck” Armstrong went home to the Lord on January 13, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Chuck always said he came to visit this life on March 4, 1970, and he was meant to learn and grow spiritually before returning home. His family takes great comfort in knowing that when Chuck returned “home” , it was because he had accomplished all he was meant to do, not only in his own life but in his loved ones’ lives, too. Chuck grew up in Terrell and attended Terrell schools. Jumping straight into the workforce after his schooling, Chuck developed a talent for knowing the best ways to build, repair or renovate. He was aptly called a jack of all trades as each project opportunity gave him specialized skillsets that enabled Chuck to work with many companies and people including doing electrical work, being a licensed welder, and also working alongside Randy Smith as a plumber. Chuck had an eye for design and, while working at Image National, he refined his art skills as a sign builder, helping others achieve ideas for their business needs become a reality. His creativity extended to being an artist and he also was a self taught drummer where his taste in music was always reflected when he played in his garage band, Gut Wrench. Chuck was a loyal Cowboys fan, whether they were winning or losing and that same loyalty was a hallmark of his personality in his dedication to the ones he loved most. When not at work, Chuck enjoyed being outdoors where he could spend time with family and friends fishing, hunting, at bike rallies and drag racing. He had a love for working on motorcycles, especially Harleys- and each cycle’s unique build would keep him busy for hours, days, weeks and months. His happy place was to dive into the building of a project cycle and, much to his wife’s, Suzanne, dismay, he had bike parts in every part of the house. His love of tinkering, restoring, and creating transitioned from not only his Harleys, but to hot rods and classic cars. His 1969 Falcon was his baby and building that car lead him to become involved in many Facebook groups where he met lifelong friends and made new memories. A quiet and reserved man by nature, Chuck felt that he communicated best when he worked with his hands creating and improving and his talent for leaving everything better than when he found it will be an everlasting legacy. He leaves to carry on his legacy of love to his wife of 28 years, Suzanne Armstrong; daughter, Danielle Ashby; son, Gus Ashby; granddaughters: Nadli Posey Ashby, Emma Cobb, Lilly Bush; mother, Kathy Boltin and husband, Darrell; brothers: Paul Armstrong and wife, Cyndi, Shannon Armstrong and wife, Angela; sister, Shanna Kellogg and husband, Tom; aunts: Vicki Franklin, Mary Thacker as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends, each of whom will greatly miss Chuck. A Celebration of Chuck's Life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 1, 2025 at College Mound United Methodist Church in Terrell, Texas.
