David Everett Toms, Jr.

Mr. David Toms passed away May 12, 2025 David passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 12, 2025. He was 58 years old. David was born September 28, 1966 in Stamford, CT to Toni Gregory and David Toms, Sr. Unfortunately, Mr. Toms passed away prior to David's birth. Toni married Allan Jansen in 1976, and Allan was David's "Pop" from that day on. David graduated from Carrollton ISD and continued his education by attending ITT Technical Institute while studying the drafting industry. At the time of his passing, David was a project manager with an architectural firm in Dallas. The colleagues who worked with him remember his work ethic and his ability to make time to help others. David married Shelli Estep. While they were married, they had one child, Kaylee Sara Toms, who was the light of David's life. Music was another love of David's. He started playing the drums at an early age on a set of drums his mother bought for him. He proceeded to play in a rock band and was quite an accomplished drummer. He also learned to play the guitar. Years later he started playing drums with a reviving 60's band that featured his "Pops" and several of the original "Bad Seeds", just having a lot of fun and enjoyment. Another pastime was watching MMA fights with friends and family. And of course, he enjoyed family gatherings, picnics, weddings, and holidays. His loved ones always knew that there would be plenty of photographs when David was there with his iPhone or camera. David is survived by his daughter, Kaylee; parents, Toni and Allan Jansen; brothers: Charles Eberhardt and Allan Jansen, Jr. wife, Sara, and family; his Uncle George and Aunt Mary from New York, Aunt Claire from Connecticut, his Uncle Mike and Aunt Brenda, and Aunt Donna and Uncle Robert, all from Texas. David is also survived by his many cousins from the New York, Connecticut, and Texas areas. David was predeceased by his grandparents, and recently his Aunt Barbara Billingham from and Norwalk, CT. A Celebration of Life was held for David on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 in Rockwall, Texas, as well as a Gathering of Family and Friends held on his birthday, Sunday, September 28th, 2025, in Norwalk, Connecticut.
