David Willis

David Willis, of Terrell, passed away on June 24, 2026 with his family at his side. David was born Jan. 26, 1955 on an Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to James Marcus and Velma Willis, both of whom were there in Heaven to joyfully greet him upon his arrival. After his father’s Air Force assignment in Puerto Rico ended, David’s family moved to South Carolina before coming to Texas to live permanently. He was a proud North Mesquite High School graduate of the ’73 class and he attended Eastfield College, Tyler Junior College and then SMU, acquiring his certifications in accounting. He worked with several notable corporations in the Accounting Departments including Blue Cross Blue Shield. Over the course of his life, David discovered his love for talking to people, hearing their stories and getting to know them better which led him to a career change into automobile sales. His friendly and gregarious personality along with his knowledge of numbers made him an invaluable asset to several dealerships including Jim Allee Honda, Maldonado Sales and, most recently, Musser Motors here in Terrell. While at Musser’s, David found his perfect place where he was able to blend his affability with customers and colleagues and his passion for making sure every company goal was met through sales and service. After many years serving Terrell with honor and integrity, he retired in February 2021 to spend more time with his family and grandchildren. He also had more opportunities to enjoy his hobbies including fishing, his garden and growing beautiful flowers and watching all the baseball games, especially the Texas Rangers. During his retirement, David also took up, and developed, a great talent for writing and became a published author, an accomplishment which he and his family were quite proud of. A man who provided for his family in every way, David will be forever loved and always missed. He leaves his memory to be lovingly cherished by his beloved wife, Patricia Willis; his sons: Jarrod Willis and wife, Tiffany, Shane Hare and wife Carrie, and Jason Hare and wife, Christy; grandchildren: Tinsley, Brynlee, Gabriel, Gunnar, Haven and Harlow as well as other extended family and many friends. A celebration of his life is being planned by his family.
