Donald Wayne Crable

Mr. Donald Wayne Crable of Poetry, TX, passed away on December 24, 2023, in Dallas, TX, with his family at his side. Don was born in Dallas, TX, on June 30, 1957, to John and Dolores Crable, who preceded him in death. Don grew up in Rowlett, TX, and attended schools in Garland, TX. He enlisted in the Army at age 17, where he proudly served his country with honor and distinction. After his honorable discharge, Don began working in construction, and his carpentry talent earned him the respect of his colleagues, project managers, clients, and customers. Never one to stay idle in the off-season for building, Don also drove trucks and enjoyed the many new places that he was able to get to. He also enjoyed bull riding, hunting, fishing, golfing, and woodworking as he honed his skills as a master craftsman. As a young man in Rowlett, Don made an appointment for a haircut and walked out with a great style and a soulmate, Tammy; took Don’s breath away that first day and every day after. A year later, Don proposed at the movies, and together, he and Tammy raised their family while always being the other half of each other for over 42 years. His family was always his topmost priority, and his favorite times were spent with them at the deer lease, the lake, and the casinos. Don looked at his life and figured he was not only the most blessed but also the luckiest man, and he loved getting the chance to add to that luck! A man whose generosity, quick wit, and adventurous spirit encouraged so many others, Don’s memory will be forever cherished as his legacy lives on in his beloved family. Don is survived by his cherished wife of over 39 years, Tammy Crable; children: Ashley Crable and husband, Michael Valentine, Lacey Pruitt and husband, Jessy, Dustin Crable and wife, Courtney, Jodee Sanford and husband, Mason; grandchildren: Madison, Landin, and Alyssa Smith, Hayden, Cameron, and Jaylee Pruitt, Korbyn and Kayson Crable, Austen Wise, Kori, and Westin Sanford as well as other extended family members and a host of friends, each of whom will miss him greatly. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 1:00pm, on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Epic Life Church In Terrell, with a reception following Don's service. All are welcome to come and share stories and memories of a great man that was loved by so many.
