Elaine Wooldridge

Elaine Myers Wooldridge was born January 11, 1947 in Newton, Mississippi and passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 8, 2022. She was born to Claude Howard Myers and Jimmie Lee Williamson Myers, both of whom preceded her in death along with her beloved husband of 42 years, Billy, with whom she was reunited after his passing on July 1, 2007. Elaine was also met in Heaven by her daughter, Kristen (KK) Wooldridge who passed in March of 2022, her parents, Howard and Jimmie Lee, her parents-in-law, Billy, Sr., and Jewell Wooldridge, where they each welcomed her gladly. Elaine lived in Terrell, Texas and was a 1965 graduate of Terrell High School. She worked as a secretary at Terrell State Hospital and, after 30 years of dedicated service, she retired to spend more time with her family. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was a faithful servant. She was involved in many of the church’s ministries including being an Awana’s leader, church clerk for her Sunday School class and Vacation Bible School. VBS brought Elaine a great amount of joy as she loved teaching kids about the Lord and how much He loved each little one in her class! Her heartfelt prayer was that each child she was privileged to teach would go home and share the lessons so that their own families could come to know the great grace and love that Jesus has for all of us. She was truly a servant of the Lord being a tireless prayer warrior for all and she deeply loved her family and friends. She was the best sister, mom, grandmother, and aunt anyone could ever ask for and Elaine always thought of others before herself and her legacy will forever be remembered in our hearts. She leaves a legacy that will forever be treasured by her daughters: Kim Wooldridge and Heather Wooldridge. Her memory will also live on with her grandchildren: Bailey Wooldridge, Mason Green, Maura Donavyn, Justin Donavyn; her two sisters, Elizabeth Jones of Mexia, Tx and Jean Weathers of Houston, Tx.; son-in-law, Ace Green as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Max Slayton Funeral Home.
