In Loving Memory of Forest Lee Boyd, Jr Forest Lee Boyd Jr., of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion and integrity that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. Forest was born October 6, 1965 on Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma to his parents, Forest Lee Boyd, Sr. and Carolyn Sue Horton. Forest spent most of his younger years in Moore, OK, where he attended Moore High School. He and his former wife, Carole raised their family in Northern Virginia were he began working for Fairfax County Park Authority. Born with a natural athleticism, Forest excelled in various sports throughout his life. But it was on the golf course that he truly found his passion. As an avid golf pro, he honed his skills with dedication and precision, earning admiration from fellow players and students leaving an indelible mark on the green. Beyond the fairways, Forest possessed a strategic mind that extended to the realm of pool, poker and chess. His sharp intellect, and strategic prowess made him a formidable opponent, yet he always played with fairness and sportsmanship, embodying honesty and integrity to his core. Dependable and steadfast, he was always there for those in need, offering unwavering support and guidance to his loved ones. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and even held his own with a little karaoke. As a hands-on father and grandfather, he cherished every moment spent with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will endure for generations to come. Though Forest may no longer walk amongst us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding us to embrace life’s joys, cherish our loved ones, and always strive to live with honesty, integrity and love. Forest will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was survived by his daughter, Monica and husband Shelby Krause; son, Chad and wife Jessica Boyd; grandsons, Wyatt Carney, Logan Boyd, Lucas Boyd, and Grant Krause; brother, Bobby and wife Deana Boyd; step-sisters Terese Cozad and Shauna Shores; former wife and friend, Carole Boyd Davis, as well as other extended family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father Forest Sr, and wife, Karen Boyd as well as his mother Carolyn and husband, Tommy Horton. To honor Forest’s legacy and memories, a Celebration of Life is being planned by his family. It will be held on May 25th 1-3pm at Bear Creek Golf Club.
