Geraldine Peterson

Geraldine Peterson departed her earthly home and entered her eternal home on January 31, 2019. On January 26, 1932 Geraldine was born to Elbert and Carrie Roberts both of whom preceded her in death along with two children: Gracie (daughter) and Roscoe, Sr. (son) and nine brothers. Geraldine attended school at Cartwright school of Wills point. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Elmo Church of God in Christ where she continued to serve the Lord every way she could so as to enlarge his Kingdom here on earth. She was an example of what a follower of Christ should be because she gave her everything to Him and to those she loved. She married Willie Peterson Sr. in 1952 and together they were blessed with many years of love, family and friends. She loved to cook for everybody and her recipes were enjoyed so much that she had her very own cookbook printed for all. She worked for the American National Bank as a hostess for over 25 years and her beautiful smile and warm personality made every visitor feel like they were home. A devoted wife and dedicated mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Geraldine leaves to cherish her memories Willie Peterson Sr. (husband), Willie Jr. (son) , Debra (daughter) Alvin, Edmund (son) Julius (son). Geraldine loved her family and friends. Geraldine never met a stranger and she always tried to help anyway she could. Geraldine was blessed to have 16 grandchildren: Roy, Jocelyn, Shawna, Dana, Roscoe Jr., DeLana, LaDonna, Niesha, Jeremiah, Carla, Amanda, Rachel, Zion, Zaraya, Angeni, Zameron; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Geraldine also loved and cherished her daughter in law Helen Peterson, God-daughter Peggy Henderson, special daughter, Jill Slayton, extended granddaughter Carla Denson, sister Billie Jean Harden, and brother Chester Roberts as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services for Geraldine Peterson will be 1 pm Saturday February 9, 2019 at the First Baptist Church 403 N. Catherine St. Terrell, Tx. The family will receive friends 4 pm to 7 pm Friday February 8, 2019 at Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations. Interment will be 11:30 am Monday February 11, 2019 at DFW National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy. Dallas, Tx. 75211.
