Jane Tallent

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Jane Tallent, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left this world on March 12, 2025, at the age of 81. Jane was born on October 23, 1943, in Tiger Town, Texas, to D.W. (Dellous) and Doris Easter Davis. Her life, rich with love and kindness, leaves a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Jane journeyed through life with an infectious spirit and a heart full of love. She married her soulmate, Randall Loyd Tallent, on November 27, 1965, in Garland, Texas. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership that spanned 55 amazing years, filled with shared dreams and cherished memories. Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband Randy, her sisters JohnAnn Davis and Gertie Lee Davis, as well as her parents, D.W. and Doris Easter Davis. She is survived by her devoted daughter, September Tallent Giese Wheeler and son in law, Mark Wheeler, her granddaughters Ellis Giese and Shea Carter, her grandson-in-law Tyler Carter, and her three beautiful great-grandchildren, Cal, Kambrie, and Korie Carter. Jane’s family was her pride and joy; she made it a priority to be present for every special occasion, celebrating the milestones and everyday moments alike. Jane's pursuit of knowledge led her to East Texas State University, where she studied Business Administration. After college, she worked as a Bookkeeper at Varo Inc. before dedicating many years to Duncanville Eye Associates, where her warm smile and caring nature brightened the day of everyone she encountered. She retired in 2019 to devote her time to her grandchildren, relishing every moment spent with them. A faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson, Jane enjoyed attending services with her daughter, September. This weekly ritual became a treasured time for both, where they deepened their bond and shared in their faith. Jane’s zest for life was evident in her vibrant personality. She loved to adorn herself with rings on every finger and wore long, ornate nails long before they were a trend. Dressed in sparkles or leopard print, and always adorned with jewelry, she had a style that was uniquely her own. Her presence was a beacon of warmth and joy, embodying the adage, “To know her is to love her.” In honoring Jane’s memory, the family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurturing caregivers who provided exceptional care and support for years. Your compassion and dedication made a significant difference and will always be remembered. A celebration of Jane's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church Richardson on April 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM. If you feel compelled, she adored flowers of all kinds, especially orange and white colored roses and lilies. The family would love to bring awareness to Frontotemporal Dementia and requests any donations be given to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) in Jane’s name, a cause that holds profound significance for them.
