Jason Cody Sanchez

Jason Cody Sanchez, lately of Terrell and formerly of Irving, passed away on June 14, 2023 in Dallas with loving family at his side. Jason was born Feb. 10, 1984 in Irving to Fidencio and Dathy (Dale) Sanchez. He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandfathers, Jimmy Richard Dale and Fidencio Sanchez, Sr., his grandmother, Betty Dale, great grandparents: Welo and Wela Coronado and Memams and Pa Dickerson, step-brother, Richard Dale Owens, and uncle and aunt, Joe and Yolanda Sanchez. Jason was a graduate of Irving Nimitz High School in 2003. For all of his life, he was an avid reader of any book available, and his interests were always eclectic as he felt a person could never stop learning all they could in life. He had a lively personality that put everyone he met at ease and his bright smile was contagious to every person he came in contact with. He loved making other people laugh and his sense of humor and witty observations were the life of every gathering. Throughout his life, Jason battled medical conditions related to kidney disease that began early in high school, but it was his resiliency and ability to always see his challenges as opportunities and his determination to never take a single day for granted that others immediately noticed. He loved totally and completely, and his family meant everything to him. His loyalty to his friends and the people he cared for was rivaled only by the care and time he spent working on his beloved car, a 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. Jason had an eye for detail and perfection that was exemplified in the care of his car, and making sure his car was at the highest level of performance truly was his pride and joy. Researching and learning more about the culture of Japan was also an activity that Jason enjoyed with pictures of the cherry blossoms, bonsai trees, Japanese art and history being favorite subjects that he truly enjoyed studying in-depth. Growing up in Irving, Jason liked the convenience of living in the city and having so many choices to do and experience so close. When he and his family moved to Terrell, he had initial hesitations about “country living” but in the end, the quiet, serene and peaceful surroundings won him over and he truly enjoyed being outside and experiencing a different and more slow-paced lifestyle which led to more treasured moments spent with family making memories-memories that will be forever cherished and never fade. A loving and devoted son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend, Jason will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Jason’s memory and legacy of unconditional love will be carried on by his parents, Fidencio and Dathy Sanchez of Terrell; brother, Bret Anthony Sanchez and wife, Olivia, of Terrell; grandmother, Guadalupe (Momo) Sanchez of Irving; step-sister, Misty DeAnn Owens of Dallas as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A celebration of Jason’s life will be at 10:00am, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Christian Center of Mesquite, 4401 Cartwright, Mesquite, TX, 75181. His family will receive friends beginning at 9:00am until service time.
