John Edward Arnold January 18, 1942 – March 11, 2026 John Edward Arnold, 84, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at his home in Royse City, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 18, 1942, in Aurora, Illinois, to Harold and Margaret Arnold, and was raised in Bellaire, Texas, where he built the foundation of a life defined by service, family and quiet strength. His commitment to serving in all aspects of his life led John to achieving the rank of Eagle Scout during his high school years and learning skills that would forever be used by him throughout his lifetime. He attended St. Edward’s High School in Austin before proudly serving his country in combat as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his military service, John returned home and continued his education at the University of Houston, where he earned a master’s degree in finance. He went on to obtain his CPA license, beginning a distinguished career with the Securities and Exchange Commission, followed by many successful years working in the private sector of the securities market. As the oldest of seven siblings, John carried a deep sense of responsibility and love for his family throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Mike Arnold, and his beloved grandson, Landon Wilson. John is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Carolyn Gossett Wilson Arnold, whose love and partnership were central to his life. He was also a proud father to Drew Arnold (wife Eva), James Arnold (wife Kari), Kim Wilson and Travis Wilson (wife Michelle). John will also forever be remembered by his brothers, Pete and Tommy; sisters, Peggy and Midge (husband Ernie) as well as sisters-in-law, Pat and Sandy. He leaves behind a lasting legacy through his grandchildren: Cade Wilson, Alec Wilson, Avery Figueroa Wilson, Alicia Bozeman Morris, Gabe Arnold, Sarah Arnold, Jake Arnold, Noah Arnold and Luan Pedrozo; his great-grandchildren: Emilia Pedrozo, Tosin Pedrozo, Shiloh Pedrozo and Charli Morris as well as former daughter-in-law Simone Pedrozo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. John will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his professional integrity and his unwavering love for his family.
