Jose "Joe" Luis Sauceda III

Jose Luis Sauceda III, Joe, Baby Joe, Fat Boy, Number 1 son, of Terrell, passed away on the morning of January 23, 2020. Joe was born February 15, 1977 in San Antonio to Jose Luis, Jr. and Virginia (Ramos) Sauceda and he was welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents who preceded him in death. Joe was born to be always on the move, growing up he lived in Colorado Springs, Co, Albuquerque, NM, Biloxi MI, Montgomery, AL, and finally settled into Converse TX. Upon graduating from high school, he enrolled into Texas A&M University-Commerce. He met Emily in the cafeteria on the first day of the Spring semester in 1998. Their friendship grew into love quickly and he and Emily were married June 10, 2000 and had a wonderful 19 plus years together. Joe worked as a Special Education teacher and loved the students he taught. He never thought of himself as a good enough teacher, but he was just himself and that impacted everyone who met him. He impacted lives at Winfree Academy Charter School in Irving, Scurry-Rosser ISD, and most recently, Edgewood ISD. He worked hard each and every day to help students succeed to the best of their abilities. His most proud accomplishments were his children. He bragged about them to everyone. He was so proud of everything they did, from track meets to the shotgun range, the golf range, theatre, movie sets, and band performances. He couldn’t wait to see what the future held for them. He loved to work in his greenhouse, he enjoyed family vacations, and loved to sit on a pier with his family fishing. A wonderful husband, father, son, brother, friend and teacher, Joe will be missed by everyone whose lives he impacted. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Emily Sauceda, of Terrell, children, Hannah Sauceda, Major Sauceda, and Kyron Cobb of Terrell; parents, Jose Sauceda Jr and Virginia Sauceda of Converse; sister Patricia Sauceda of Tulsa Ok; sister Monica Gutierrez and husband Keo of Schertz; niece Jasmine Guterrez, and nephew Jonathon Gutierrez; father and mother-in-law, Kevin and Lori Prouty; sister-in-law, Carla Harker and husband Joe; brother-in-law Christopher Prouty and wife Amanda, nephews Brendyn, Caleb, Zachary, and Josh Prouty, his absolute favorite dog, Gringo, and many cousins, extended family and friends, all of whom he loved and appreciated. Funeral Mass will be 1030 am Wednesday January 29, 2020 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell. Family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm Tuesday January 28 at Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations. Rosary will be recited at 7 pm following visitation at the funeral home.
