Kathy Elaine Meador

Kathy Elaine Meador, beloved mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord she so faithfully served on May 1, 2026. Kathy was born March 3, 1956 in Terrell to Curtis and Dorothy Meador, both of whom joyfully welcomed her into Heaven along with her infant son, Dusty Allen Meador; brothers: Daniel Leon Meador, Michael Wayne Meador, and Jerry Don Meador; sisters: Suzanne Meador, Debra Nell Myers, and Patricia Gail Lara. Having many brothers and sisters meant that Kathy had the best of both worlds: loving family and forever friends all wrapped up at her home and the many memories that were made with her close and extended family were treasured by her every day. All her life, Kathy cared for others with the little ones and children being her favorite. Taking care of the many kids she knew, her siblings, and later, her nieces and nephews, when they were all little was an absolute joy for Kathy. Her fun loving spirit made sure they each had fun too as they played countless games of pretend and letting their imaginations run wild. Later, she would work in landscaping to earn extra money for treats for the kids as well as her daughter, April. She was a devoted and caring mom to April, making sure that every day was filled with love, adventures and hugs. Kathy was a great supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and she loved getting together with family to watch the games. She also looked forward to holidays and her very favorite days being Thanksgiving, Christmas and Fourth of July because she could be sure of great times and amazing food that was enjoyed by all! Kathy had a beloved dog, Cooper, that she lovingly called Coopers. She and Coopers had a true bond everyone knew that each day would involve spoiling him rotten! Kathy was a thoughtful, generous and kind person who truly enjoyed helping others. She was a longtime volunteer at the Share Center for over 15 years until her health wouldn't allow her to any longer. Even when her health began to decline, Kathy was a steadfast prayer warrior for everyone she knew. She loved music, especially singing and she knew many gospel songs. Faith was also important to Kathy and she was a longtime member of Rockwall & Brin Church of Christ. She developed many friendships over the years and she prayed for everyone and each member of the church was as important to her as she was to them. A beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be missed and forever remembered. Kathy leaves her memory to be cherished by her daughter, April Dawn Meador; sisters, Cora Lynn Meador and Mary Elizabeth Shaddox; brother, Billy Joe Meador as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, beloved church family and a host of friends, all of whom loved her so very much. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm, Monday, May 11, 2026 at Rockwall & Brin Church of Christ with interment to follow at College Mound Cemetery.
