Kenneth Wayne Hardy

Kenneth Wayne Hardy, lifetime resident of the Hiram Community in Wills Point, TX, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family. Kenneth was born May 22, 1932 in Hiram to Eldridge and Junia Mae Hardy, both of whom welcomed him into Heaven along with brother, James Hardy and daughter, Shanna Rounsavall and son-in-law, John Rounsavall. Kenneth was a man who loved his family and had a love for the outdoors and peaceful country living and he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. On April 23, 1971, he and Jackie were married and for the next 54 years, they would fill each others lives and their home with faith, love and timeless memories. Kenneth worked for Texas Aluminum for many years until his retirement. He spent his time outdoors and could be found fishing, spending precious time with his grandkids (later greats and great-greats!) and just being able to enjoy the quiet country from his front porch, watching cows. Another way Kenneth enjoyed the land was to mow and mow slowly! His time spent on the mower was quality time and was a win-win: he did something he loved and Jackie got a beautiful yard. When the weather wouldn’t cooperate for him to be outside, he would be inside relaxing watching his favorite westerns or wrestling, visiting with family and friends who would stop by. Kenneth was also a veteran, having served in Korea with the US Army. Kenneth was always grateful to the Lord for his daily blessings and he and Jackie were members of Trinity Baptist Church in Wills Point. A man who never took a day for granted, Kenneth’s legacy of unconditional love for his family and his Lord will be proudly carried on by each person who knew him. He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Jackie Hardy; daughters: Sheila Parnell and husband, Travis, Kenna Blackmon, and Kelly Cacas and son, Jeff Hardy and wife, Kristal; grandchildren: Stephen, Stephanie, Sydney, Christopher, Terry, Jeffrey, Casi, Carli, Brady, and Kelsi; great grandchildren: Lexi, Madeline, Camden, Reagan, Parker, Ari, Colin, Lane, Alexis, Tatum, Ethan, Levi, Jackson Fernando, Kori, Kylie, Ella, McKenna, and Lucas; great-great grandchildren: Priscilla, Baram, Ava, Amelia, and Dakota as well as other extended family and many friends. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, Sept. 25, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. His family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the funeral home.
