Larry Glover

Sgt. Larry Wayne Glover, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on the morning of August 16, 2026, in Rockwall, Texas. Larry was born on June 17, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, to John and Rae Nell (King) Glover. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kelly Glover. Larry was spirited and full of life as he grew up in Garland, where he graduated from high school after the school granted him the credits he needed, perhaps knowing his restless, wild spirit was ready for a world bigger than their hallways. He was rambunctious, unforgettable, and one of a kind. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the Marines, where he faithfully and dutifully served his country for six years, traveling to various locations, including Vietnam. He earned many accolades for his dedication, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and two letters of appreciation. After leaving the military, Larry began a career with Texas Instruments in Terrell, Texas, where he worked for over twenty years before ultimately retiring from Vaspar as an electrician. The Marine way, however, never left Larry, and he held those values and beliefs until his passing. In 1980, Larry met the woman of his dreams and the one his soul wished for, Eulaylia D. Imig. Their beginning was unconventional, but nothing stopped the love-at-first-sight feeling they both felt. Larry and De knew they were meant to be together when De’s health took a turn after an accident, and Larry moved in immediately to care for the household. Their previous marriages brought their children together under one roof and completed their loving family with a child of their own. Larry and De were wed on December 4, 1981, at the Rockwall County Courthouse, solidifying their true love by having their first argument on the front steps of the courthouse. Larry loved his family fiercely, doing anything he could to provide for De and their children. He was a grizzly when needed, but a teddy bear to those he cherished. He taught his girls just as he did his sons, expecting them to know basic car maintenance and how to be independent in the world. He led with a firm hand and a kind heart. His stoic fatherly mannerisms only lasted through raising his children, however. Once he became a grandfather, he became the softest, most patient, most lovable man to his grandbabies. Larry’s retired days were the sweetest, whether he was camping with his family, fishing, spending days on the lake, or riding around on his motorcycle. He was a proud member of the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club, earning the name “Sleepy.” An honorable man, Larry’s life and legacy will be remembered by those who continue to cherish his memory. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Eulaylia “De” Glover, of Poetry, Texas; his children: Richard Glover, of Dallas; Karen Burns and husband, Charles, of Terrell; Randy Glover and wife, Kelly, of Flower Mound; Colbie James and husband, Matthew, of Greenville; and adopted son, Joshua Seals, of Poetry. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brennan Cooper and wife, Harley; Makaylia Chappell and partner, Trey Mingus; Haleigh Green and husband, Bradley; Hunter Glover and partner, Maci Chambers; Travis Morgan, Jr.; Christine Burns; Evan Seals; Jackson Glover; and eight wonderful great-grandchildren.
