Leslie Nicole Phillips-Gibson

Leslie Nicole Phillips Gibson, cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, passed away on September 29, 2023. Leslie was born in Dallas at Baylor Hospital on April 27, 1978 to Lorri and Charles (Chuck) Phillips. As she closed her eyes here on earth, she was immediately welcomed into Heaven by those who have passed before her including her great grandparents, Barbara and Claude Roddam, grandparents: Barbara Sue and Bill Reese, Helen Tubbs, Charlie Phillips, and John Youngblood, along with her uncle, Leon Roddam. After graduating from West Mesquite High School in 1996, Leslie attended several semesters at college but then was able to do what she really loved-be a stay at home and full-time mom to her two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Bailee. Leslie’s world was filled with fun, excitement, and many friends but her true happiness was spending time at home with her two girls. She enjoyed watching movies with them, listening to live country music, shopping, and spoiling them both with whatever they needed AND wanted. Leslie also loved time spent with family and she was the consummate hostess. Her home was always open to entertainment, and she made sure to clean from top to bottom and then cook a fabulous meal to be enjoyed by all. Leslie’s cleaning and organizational skills were unmatched, and she took a great amount of pride in her home’s comfort and relaxation to her guests. Leslie also had a talent for making many four-legged friends and, over the years, she had a myriad of cats, dogs, hamsters, sugar gliders, fish, horses, pigs, turtles, and even a squirrel. Many of these new family additions presented their own set of challenges but Leslie always gave them an abundance of love and a safe home until a permanent family could be found. Her nurturing spirit was evident in all of her relationships and Leslie gave the best of herself to everyone she loved. She was generous to a fault (with her time and finances to bless so many others) and her down-to-earth, sweet personality made instant friends with everyone she met. Her bright and luminous smile was the first thing others noticed but immediately, you were struck by her boundless energy and amazing kindness. Leslie was a true angel on earth and, while she will be missed so much, her unconditional love will continue to live on in her beloved daughters and the rest of her family. Leslie leaves her memory to be forever cherished by her daughters, Taylor Gibson, and Bailee Cook and husband, Collin; parents, Lorri and Chuck Phillips; sister, Casey Foster and husband, Chris; brother, Kyle Phillips and wife, Vira: nephews: Caden, Carson and Chord Foster, nieces: Harper and Cooper Phillips; uncle and aunts: Rex and Andreia Reese and Jean Roddam; cousins: Brent Roddam and his son, Jeffrey Roddam, Steffanie and Tom Holman and their children, Collin and Kaitlyn Holman, and Clint and Kristi Reese and their children Xander and Kennedy Reese, Brandon and Misti Reese and their children: Gwen, Gaitlyn, Grace and an expected Baby Boy Reese as well as other extended family and countless friends, each of whom loved Leslie greatly and will miss her forever. A Celebration of her life will be at 2:00pm, Monday, October 9, 2023 at Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ in Terrell.
