Lonnie Striplin

Lonnie Dale Striplin, born July 14, 1951, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2025, while in Germany fulfilling a long-awaited bucket list trip. Lonnie was a devoted husband to Dawn Striplin and a proud father to his twin daughters, Jennifer and Heather Cox. He was also a deeply loving grandfather to Colson and Meredith, who brought him immense pride and joy. His grandchildren were among his greatest blessings, and he treasured every moment spent with them. A man of quiet but strong faith, Lonnie faithfully attended Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. His faith guided him in the way he loved his family, his church family, and lived his life - with humility, steadiness, and quiet conviction. He carried great pride in his service in the United States Army, honoring his country with dedication. Equally meaningful to him was his devotion to the Lancaster High School Class of 1969. He faithfully helped organize and attended every class reunion, deeply valuing the lifelong friendships and shared history they represented. Known for his quiet sense of humor and keenly observant nature, Lonnie noticed the small details others often missed. He did not seek attention, but his steady presence, thoughtful insight, and subtle wit left a lasting impression. He lived with calm strength and an appreciation for meaningful experiences. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Kathryn and J.C., and brother, Jerry. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Dawn; his daughters, Jennifer and Heather Cox, his son-in-law, Keagan, and his cherished grandchildren, Colson and Meredith; his sister, Sandy, brother-in-law, Larry, and their children, Katie and Justin, along with their families; and his nieces, Ashley, Jamie, and Erin, and their families. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his steadfast faith, his service to his country, his loyalty to lifelong friends, and his gentle humor. His life leaves a legacy of love, quiet wisdom, and treasured memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Memorial Service and Eucharist will be held at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Terrell, Texas.
