Malachi Lorenzo Wallace

Malachi Lorenzo Wallace, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, passed away on Feb. 15, 2026. Malachi was born Sept. 2, 2007 in Greenville to Norman and Cindi Sharie Wallace and he was joyfully greeted in Heaven by his grandparents, Norman, Jr. and Judy Wallace, grandmother, Cindy Smith and cousin JR Wallace. Malachi attended school in Rains ISD where his exciting and adventurous spirit made every day a new experience for other students and teachers alike! His passions were many, but he absolutely was committed to playing football, music and WWE pro wrestling. Malachi played in a semi-pro football organization, the NETX Dragons. His dedication and representation to what the Dragons stood for-commitment, toughness and heart-was evident both on and off the field. When not dominating on the football field, Malachi loved fiercely and those who were closest to him knew that he could be caring, devoted, compassionate, as well as a very competitive spirit that blessed him with a heightened ability to ‘talk smack’! His unique personality was visible by what Malachi loved: the color pink, new and exciting once-in-a-lifetime journeys and people, being an avid fan of Patrick Mahomes since his time with Texas Tech and then Kansas City Chiefs, and his beloved cat, Pocahontas. He was always willing to be the first to create new escapades, all the while keeping everyone laughing and guessing what happens next and that was just life with Malachi! Every day, Malachi loved intensely, fearlessly and to a fault and his dedication to those he cared for will always be the greatest gift he gave to those blessed enough to have him in their lives. His ability to seamlessly blend surprising and memorable experiences with his constant love for others was a true testament to how unique Malachi was. His family and friends will forever take comfort in knowing his memory will ALWAYS live on in the many lives he touched. His memory will be continually and eternally cherished by his parents, Norman and Cindi Sharie Wallace; brothers: Kolby Wallace and fiancée, Kathalynn, Marcus Wallace and Cason Wallace; grandfather, Dwain Elmore and wife, Renee; great-grandmother, Marie Allison along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, his NETX Dragons teammates and coaches (“Once a Dragon, always a Dragon”) and countless friends, each of whom will greatly miss Malachi. Funeral service and celebration of Malachi’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Ables Springs Cemetery. His family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home. For those wishing to make memorials to Malachi, his family has allowed Max Slayton Funerals to receive any amount on their behalf.
