Micah Bass

Micah William Bass was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at Saint Anthony’s Hospital on June 27, 2012. Jesse and Amy got him to Texas as soon as they could, welcoming him into their family on August 3, 2012, and legally adopting him on December 12, 2012. Micah entered into the joy of His Master on Thursday morning, February 1, 2024. Micah’s sister, Victoria-Faith, loved him the moment she saw him. Jesse and Amy loved him far before that, having prayed for him to be a part of their family before he even entered this world. Amy always knew she would have a son just like Micah… And what a son he was. Micah was a friend and protector of everyone he met; a gentle giant, born to play football and push people around—especially with his Red Raider family. Though he was only 11 years old he was bigger and stronger than most grown men, but he was committed to using his strength for good. He had grown so much recently that he moved into a size 13 shoe. And he loved his shoes, from Jordans to cowboy boots. On any given day you could find him running around in those shoes playing basketball or playing around his Meme and Popples’ pond, finding good sticks to shape and sharpen with one of his pocketknives. Along with playing outside, he enjoyed playing music and videogames, especially with his family and friends. He loved his friends and classmates; and Micah made every friend he had feel like they were his best friend with all the love he gave. Micah’s most important love was his love for Jesus. He recently submitted his life to the Lord through faith and baptism, showing his love for the Lord, and showing God’s faithfulness to answer prayer. His whole family, and his whole church family prayed that God would pour out His mercy and grace upon Micah from the moment they knew him. And so He did. Micah loved Jesus and he loved his church, especially his Sunday school class and his teacher, April Kelm. Micah loved us all well and was extremely well loved. He will be dearly missed, but his memory and the joy he brought us all will continue on. Those cherishing his memory most and longing for the day they will see him in glory are his father Jesse Bass; mother Amy Bass; sister Victoria-Faith Bass; uncle Matt Ott; aunt Corrie Ott; cousin Elijah Ott; cousin Nora Ott; cousin Lilly Rey Ott; grandfather Eli Melton (Popples); grandmother Margaret Melton (Meme); grandfather Russell Bass (G-Pop); and grandmother Nancy Bass (Nana). as well as many other extended relatives and countless friends.
