Patricia Anne Franklin

Patricia Anne Franklin, 72, of Hockley, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023. Patricia placed her faith in Jesus Christ and is now in her heavenly home. She was born on March 7, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to William and Dolly McKinney. Patricia was preceded in death by her father William McKinney, brother James McKinney, and granddaughter Nora Kate Beene. Patricia grew up in and graduated from Smiley High School in 1968. On June 20, 2003 she married Daniel Franklin. The couple shared almost 20 years together. Patricia retired in 2016 after spending most of her career in the dental field and served as an office manager and assistant. She loved being around her co-workers and patients and cherished the relationships that she developed from her career. Patricia was a vibrant, beautiful woman who led an adventure-filled life. She was known as “Weezer” by her grandchildren, because she gleefully exemplified many of the character traits as the famed Steel Magnolias character. Patricia loved the outdoors and was happiest on the farm with Daniel. She loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed tending to them and giving them abundant attention and love. She especially loved her dogs Jesse and Jenny. She enjoyed her time on the bike with Daniel and all their friends, taking countless trips with them and making endless memories around campfires, dinner tables, rest stops, and scenic destinations. Patricia was also a lover of art in many forms. As an avid reader, she consumed several books a week for most of her life. She also loved collecting and making jewelry for those she loved. She loved music, listening to many different genres depending on her mood and was an avid lover of film, enjoying classic movies, her favorites being old westerns and musicals. Patricia was most grateful when she was spending time with her family and grandchildren and her smile was always brightest during holidays and special life events surrounded by those she loved. Patricia will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her. Patricia is survived by her husband Daniel Franklin, mother Dolly McKinney, Son James Beene and his wife Tracey, daughter Rachel Davis and her husband Chad, siblings Bill McKinney and wife Gwenn, Jeanine McKinney, and Barbara England, grandchildren, Chase, Hannah, and Emma Davis, Taylor, Jakob, Lauren, and Addison Beene, stepchildren Justin Franklin and wife Elizabeth, Heather Baker and husband Jordan, and step-grandchildren, Holly and Lilly Franklin, and Scarlett Baker, along with nephews, nieces, cousins, and many dear family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 11th at 11am in Spring, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to be made in Patricia’s honor to The American Kidney Fund.
