Patricia LaRoe

Patricia Ann LaRoe, 93 a longtime resident of Terrell passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025. Patricia was the daughter of John Thelo Robertson Sr., and Denneth Christine (Zink) Robertson. She was born on March 17, 1932 in Edgewood, TX. She was raised in a bustling household with seven siblings in Edgewood where she also attended high school. She married Alfred Henry LaRoe on July 31, 1949 and together they made their home in Terrell, TX. They were married for 50 years before Alfred’s passing in December of 1999. She was known as “Tricia” to her siblings, “Pat” to her friends, “Mama” to her daughters and “Nanny” to her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. During the course of her seventy-six years living in Terrell, she was a long time member of The First Baptist Church. In her earlier years, before moving to Terrell she was employed by the Terrell Boot Factory where she met her lifelong friend, Adeline Ables. She was also employed by Leaman Marshall who owned the Lyric, Iris, and Terrell Drive-In. Pat worked at all three theaters at various times. Southland Athletic Manufacturing Co. became her final place of employment. Dedicating over 50 years to this company where she was a loyal and dependable employee until her retirement. Pat enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends by either attending or hosting gatherings. She had a passion for football and the game was even better if her favorite team the Dallas Cowboys were playing. She also enjoyed going dancing, dining out and cooking, where she knew her way around the kitchen. Being the caretaker of her yard and flowers became another passion she enjoyed even more after retirement. She was very proud of the ferns and flowers she raised and displayed in her yard. Spending time outside in her backyard oasis during the summer months was something she looked forward to each year. She loved celebrating Christmas by decorating her home and yard with lots of Christmas lights. The more the merrier. No matter which name you knew her by, she will be greatly missed, but not forgotten by everyone that loved her. Family members left to cherish the memories of Pat are her two daughters, Betty Jo McMahen-Wilson, Terri LaRoe and husband Terry Constantine. Her two grandchildren, Jared Briggs and wife Anna, Kayla Watson and husband Matt. Her five great grandchildren, Jennifer, John and Clayton Briggs and Aubrey and Logan Watson. Her youngest sister, Sue Wade, very special friend, Gerald Lasater and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, parents J. T. Robertson Sr., and Denneth Robertson, four brothers, John T. Robertson Jr., James H. Robertson, Ralph L. Robertson and Billy Z. Robertson, three sisters, Margaret Jo Moore, Clara Louise Scearce and Emma Jane Robertson. Son-in-laws, John McMahen Jr., and Don Wilson. Funeral Services for Pat will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday April 27, 2025 at the Max Slayton Funeral Chapel in Terrell, Texas.
