Pete Wigley

Pete N. Wigley was born March 6, 1933 in Monticello, Arkansas to Bunyan Wigley and Annie “Lu-Lu” Wigley. He went home to the Lord on January 19, 2023. Pete served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 . He served as a Drill Instructor and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was also an avid outdoorsman. He was always happiest when he was out hunting and would never turn down the opportunity to go hunting or fishing with his brothers and many grandchildren. Pete loved nature and even befriended a squirrel on his property by offering it pecans daily. Pete married his lifelong love Billie Jean Wigley on August 1, 1954. Together they welcome three beautiful daughters and celebrated over 50 years of marriage. He worked in the construction industry as an estimator for over 40 years. This afford him and Billie a comfortable lifestyle and the opportunity to be part of the equestrian club, Ridge Riders. Pete, Billie and their girls made many lifelong memories and friendships. Pete was a man of sacrifice. He left school after the 8th grade to help provide for his younger siblings after the untimely death of his father Bunyan. He then later walked away from a law degree at the University of Arkansas to focus on his family to make sure his daughters had a father that was present. Pete was a true hero. He singlehandedly saved the life of his granddaughter, Amy, when she almost drowned during a family swim party. Among Pete's many lifelong accomplishments, he was most proud of his family and was always the biggest champion of their successes. Pete will forever be remembered as a humble, hard-working, and deeply caring man to everyone he met. Pete is proceeded in death by his father Bunyan Wigley, mother Annie Wigley, brothers and sisters Buster, Margie, Jimmy, Jack, Mary, Betty and wife Billie Wigley. Pete is survived by his brother Donald Wigley of Terrell, Texas. Daughters Becky Wigley, of Allen, Texas; Suzi Driscoll, and husband Patrick of Allen, Texas; Patti Lohrs, and husband Alan of Greenville, Texas. Grandchildren Rachael Payton, and husband Donovan of Allen, Texas; Amy Raulston, and husband Michael of Paris, Texas; Sarah Bussell, and fiancé Russell Doxey of Princeton, Texas; Christopher Lohrs and wife Janice of Nevada,Texas; Christin Lohrs of Azle, Texas. Great-grandchildren Peyton, Mckenzie, Hunter, Zoey, Jack, Dean, Kolby, Sophia, Mary Rose, and Jewel. Graveside service is scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2023 at Campground Cemetery, Terrell, Texas at 1:00 p.m.
