Ritha Almond

Ritha Brewer Almond passed away on December 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with a Glioblastoma brain tumor that she was diagnosed with in August 2022. Although there was no cure, Ritha kept a smile and a positive attitude. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Don Brewer; sister-in-law, Susan Brewer, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Titterington. Ritha was born on September 4, 1952, in Terrell, Texas, to OT and Jaynell Brewer. She lived in Terrell until her graduation in 1971. She was a proud Terrell Tiger and would fondly look back at the time of being on the Tigerette drill team, where she was elected captain her senior year. After graduation, Ritha began a career in the printing industry. She enjoyed designing and creating as a graphic designer for the Graphics Group of Dallas for 39 years. While she had a passion for her work, her greatest joy was spending time with her loving husband, Weldon and her precious family, friends, and many Dachshunds she had during her lifetime. Ritha, a strong, spirited woman, will be missed immensely and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Ritha is survived by her husband of 41 years, Weldon Almond; sisters: Carolyn Bailey, and husband, Paul and Vickie Titterington; brother, Ricky Brewer, and wife, Carol. Also surviving Ritha are her nephews: Jay and Corey Brewer, David Bailey and his son, Chandler, Joshua Bailey and his children, Kaiden and Lila, and Jonathan Bailey with his wife, Amanda and their children, Nikolai and Griffin. The family would like to extended their gratitude to Dr. Divya Mella and the staff at Baylor Scott and White Sammons Cancer center, Katy Cosper, Monica Ecobedo, Crystal Watkins, and Alinea Family Hospice for the excellent care Ritha received.
