Sandra McSpadden-Sumpter

Sandra Fay McSpadden Sumpter, of Kaufman, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 27, 2022 at her home with beloved family at her side. She was born Nov. 10, 1970 in Terrell, TX, to Bobby and Elsie (Vickers) Bostick, both of whom preceded her in death. Sandra graduated from North Mesquite High School and her personality made her an instant friend of all who met her. Her love of people helped her succeed at everything she embarked on and she worked at Fat Catz here in Terrell for many years as the restaurant manager. Wanting to explore new opportunities but still help people, she began working at Terrell State Hospital as a Mental Health Technician where she provided residents with the care and compassion they needed daily. Sandra was a bright part of TSH’s campus for the patients and the staff and her always positive attitude was a hallmark of her personality. Known as “Shorty” to her family and close friends, Sandra will always be remembered for her devotion to those she loved. She would do anything for them and would be their greatest encourager. While her support was legendary, Sandra could, and would, also keep everyone in line! Her gentleness was uniquely and lovingly combined with her clear sense of what works and what doesn’t. Days spent with her grandkids and family were her best days and she would often be found with them on the lake, her very favorite place to be. A loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and treasured sister, aunt, and friend, Shorty will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She leaves her memory to be cherished by her husband, Davis “Gus” McSpadden; children: Richard Jackson, II and Breanna Williams; bonus children that were like her own: Morgan Howell and Cole McSpadden; grandchildren: Cheyenne Howell, Madisyn Jackson, Kasyn Jackson, Jada Diaz, Au’brey Runnels, Richard Jackson, III, Tay Runnels, Jr., Khale Williams, Avery Williams, Harlegh Jackson, Maddison Howell, Sunny Williams and Haislyn Williams; siblings: Carolyn, Tammy, Debbie, Tim, Vickie, Renea, Jimmy and Eric as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends, all of whom loved Sandra so much. A celebration of her life will be at 1:00pm, Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her home, 1648 CR 134, Kaufman, TX, 75142 where all are invited to share stories and memories of Sandra’s impact on each life she touched.
