Stanley Franks

Stanley Jay Franks, born June 2, 1962 in Irving, Texas passed away peacefully at his home in Forney, Texas on May 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by both his parents, Sanford Shea, and Sarah Kay Franks, as well as, his father in-laws, Chuck Plows and Ken Hardison. First and foremost, Stanley was a wonderful husband and true soulmate to his wife of 39 years, Danna, as well as, an incredible father and best friend to his only son, Taylor, and spent every possible moment he could with them and their dogs, Mack and Ellie. All who knew “Stan” knew he lived life to the fullest and always had a smile on his face. Even as a man of few words, he made everyone around him feel comfortable and could bring humor to any situation with a quote from his favorite show, Seinfeld. Stan LOVED being outdoors and had a love of the mountains, beach, and any place he could just sit and enjoy life’s beauty. He has always been a kid at heart who grew up skateboarding, which led to a passion for snowboarding, and a necessity to have an annual vacation with his wife and son in the Colorado Mountains. The top of those mountains with his family was Heaven on Earth for Stan, and even at the age of 60, he would spend all day on the mountain riding with his son. Stan was as easy-going as they come and had a “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” mentality that was infectious to everyone around him. He loved the simple life…just kicking back on his patio, spending as much time as he could with his family and pups, as well as being a wonderful “Poppy” to his favorite sweet girls - Stoleigh, Berkley, Gentry and the newest addition to the family, baby Micah…Family was everything to Stan and he loved his simple, beautiful life. Left to cherish Stan’s memories and carry on his legacy are his wife, Danna Franks and their son, Taylor Franks. His step mother, Belle Franks, along with his siblings - Michael Franks and wife Carol, Jaimie Alexander, Terri Franks and partner Lee Anne Kellough, Randy Gleason and wife, Cindy. Mother in law, Judith Plows and brother in law Scott Hardison and wife, Stephanie. He was beloved by many wonderful nieces, nephews, god-children, sudo grandchildren, cousins as well as, his chosen-family members, friends and co-workers. The family is planning a Celebration of Life, to be announced a later date.
