Alice Rumina Payne Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alice Rumina Payne, Age 81, died peacefully in the presence of her family on June 16, 2022 surrounded by love and comfort. She was born on September 28, 1940 to Mary and Silas Miller, both of whom preceded her in death along with sisters Janie and Kay, and brothers Bud and Teet. She married her true love, Harley Payne, at the age of 17 and together they created a beautiful life and family. Alice, aka Granny, worked for over 30 years in daycare and loved to be surrounded by kids especially her grandkids and great grandkids. When she retired from this position, it took three people to replace her in the one kitchen. She was the worlds best at making everyone feel welcomed. As soon as anyone walked in the room, they instantly felt like they were Granny’s favorite. She would enjoy playing all different types of games, cards and dominos, and she was always such a joy to be around. Alice is survived by her loving husband, Harley Clifton Payne; her four children: Kathy Roland and husband, Rick, Cindy Nash and husband, Jim, Becky Trevathan and husband, Rusty, and James Payne and wife, Debbie; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren with one on the way as well as other extended family and friends, all of whom will miss her greatly. A graveside service is scheduled on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Union Hill Cemetery in Joshua, Texas at 10:30 a.m.
