Baby Nell Flowers, longtime resident of Terrell, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Savior on the morning of November 25, 2017. She was met in Heaven by her beloved husband, J.C “Perk” Flowers, her parents, James Wright and Sarah (Turner) Rushing, her sisters: Oleta Bell Jackson, Doris Wilson and Betsy Sparks and her brothers: Jim Rushing, Rogene Rushing, Luther Rushing and John Lane Rushing and we know there was a great rejoicing when they were all reunited! Baby Nell was born November 27, 1921 in Crandall, Texas. She met and married J. C. “Perk” Flowers and together they were blessed with their son, Joe and they made their home in Terrell however, her favorite place to spend time was at their farm in Ables Spring. Baby Nell worked at Southwestern Bell and she retired after 42 years of loyal service. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Terrell and was active until her health began to decline. Friends and gatherings where important to Baby Nell and she was a devoted member of the Red Hat Society where her always-ready smile and joy-filled personality made every occasion more fun and memorable. She had a wonderful quality of making everyone she met feel welcome and wanted and her loving spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Those left to cherish the enduring memories of Baby Nell are her son, Joe Flowers and wife, Marsha Kay, of Terrell; grandchildren: Byron Cashion and wife, Kelly, and Courtney White and husband, Ben; great grandchildren: Addison and Abel French, Rory James Cashion, Audrey Kay White; brother, Curtis Rushing of Terrell as well as many nieces, nephews as well as other extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 5:00 PM to service time. Baby Nell will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakland Memorial Park during a private interment. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 403 Catherine, Terrell, 75160.
