Betty Crow Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty P. Crow passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Wills Point on December 21, 1932 to the late Cleo and Jewel Campbell Morrison who met her in heaven along with her son, Horace Dewayne Crow, brothers: Billy Don, Jerry and Lester Morrison and sister Josephine Duncan. Betty was an accomplished seamstress and her talent for sewing, needlepoint and alterations was known far and wide among family, friends, and customers at the sewing factories where she worked. She was employed for many years at Terrell Sportwear and her leadership and sewing skills enabled her to become the manager of the facility. Betty also worked for 21 years with the local dry-cleaning stores as the “go to” alterations expert where her talent was invaluable. She enjoyed sewing so much that even in her spare time, she would create the most beautiful clothes and other needlework creations for her family and friends, many of which will be treasured for generations to come in that each stitch was made with Betty’s love. On January 23, 1959, she married the love of her life Horace Crow in Kaufman and together they raised their family based on the love of the Lord, the love of each other, honesty, integrity, and a hard work ethic that is still carried on proudly by their family. She and Horace were inseparable. Although Betty was pretty independent, their personalities fit together perfectly. She loved to just go riding with Horace and, during these times, they would talk about all of their blessings and stop to chat with the many people that they knew to catch up and visit and then, it was back on the road to do a bit more riding! Betty was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church in Grand Saline where her smile and friendly personality made every church visitor feel instantly at home and every member feel like they were the highlight of her day. A gracious and beautiful lady, Betty will be missed by all who knew her and never forgotten. She is survived by her loving husband Horace Crow of Fruitvale; daughter-in-law, Kandy Renee Crow; grandchildren: Jennifer Sloan and husband Jason and Dakota Crow and wife Emilee; great grandson Leslie Dewayne Crow as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 12:00pm, Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with private interment to follow at Creagleville Cemetery. Her family will receive friends beginning at 11:00am to service time.
