July 15, 1954 - December 27, 2020
Betty Lou Latoski passed away December 27, 2020 at her home She was born July 15, 1954 in Terrell, Tx to Cecil R. and Lou Lowder. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, son, Charles Ray Squires and her sister, Joyce Fonville. Betty attended schools in Terrell, and she grew up in the First Baptist Church of Lawrence. She worked for over 20 years for Simons Petroleum where her bright smile and kind personality made every day at work pleasant for coworkers and customers. Betty then began working for Lawrence Water Supply and her helpful attitude and positivity were a true blessing to the Lawrence community. She retired from Lawrence Water Supply after 25 years of faithful service so that she could spend more time at home with family and her beautiful grandbabies. Betty had a heart for rescuing dogs and would become so attached she would end up keeping them. Each time she would take in another rescue, her heart and home opened wider to give each of them a safe ‘furever’ home where they would always be loved. Her rescue dogs and grandbabies were her life and she made sure to show them that spending time with them were the best parts of her day. A wonderful woman with a heart bigger than Texas, Betty will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Joseph Lee Squires; grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Squires, Ashlea Jo Squires, Kali Squires, and Bryan Squires; great grandchildren: Allison Brown, Clara Brown, Raelyn Squires, Hannah Bolt, Harlan Marr, Charlie Bolt and Lyberty Bolt; sister, Glenda Waggoner and husband Jerry and brother, Doug Lowder as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service for Betty will be 10:30 am Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Lawrence Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. For those wishing, memorials in honor of Betty's love for all dogs finding homes may be made to Terrell Animal Alliance, 13802 Sarah Lane, Terrell, TX 75161.
