Carlee Nicole Baladez-Leyva

Carlee Nicole Baladez Leyva of Kaufman, TX, entered into her eternal rest on February 14, 2024, at the age of 24, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 24, 1999, in Dallas, Texas, She is survived by her husband Jason Leyva, and both her parents, Guadalupe Baladez (Christine)and Ruby Berthelette (Kevin), and grandparents, Olga and Sean Oboyle. She leaves behind her brothers Joseph, Jonathan, Jason, and Bradlee Baladez, and sisters Pamela Baladez and Ashton Candengo, along with cousins, nieces, and nephews. Despite battling heart issues from a very young age and experiencing 3 heart transplants in her life, Carlee lived life to the fullest and did not let her challenges keep her from doing the things she loved. Carlee, a graduate of Horn High in Mesquite, Texas, embarked on a journey filled with determination and passion. Her love for dance blossomed from the tender age of four, as she mastered a variety of styles: contemporary, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and ballet. On the tennis court, Carlee’s commitment shone brightly as she played on the varsity team from freshman to senior year. Her curiosity extended beyond physical activities. Carlee joined the world of broadcasting in high school and was learning to be a radio host and producer at Mesquite’s KEOM 88.5. This path eventually led her to embrace the role of a freelance DJ, where music became an extension of her soul. Carlee’s creativity knew no bounds. She recently launched an online custom printing business, infusing her designs with passion and flair. Whether baking, creating beautiful paintings, or expanding her interests in cinematic makeup, Carlee approached each endeavor with an entrepreneurial spirit. Her ability to build websites and her eye for fashion further enriched her journey. Carlee’s inspiring words echo through time: “Nothing is impossible because the word says I’m possible.” Let us all embrace her spirit of resilience and reach for the stars, dreaming big and believing in our potential. Carlee’s unwavering spirit resonated with the powerful quote: “Don’t tell me the sky’s the limit when there are footprints on the moon.” She carried this wisdom in her heart, reminding us all to reach beyond the ordinary and leave our indelible footprints on the path of possibility. Despite being the youngest in her family, Carlee took on the role of a big sister to Jason’s younger siblings, caring for them with love and devotion. Her legacy extends beyond her earthly existence—Carlee’s decision to be an organ donor reflects her selflessness and leaves an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Carlee is preceded in death by her grandmother Carmen Baladez, great grandparents Alfredo and Zoila Vega, and her loving companion Molly of 10 years. A rosary is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Saint John the Apostle Church in Terrell, Texas, beginning at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church, at 11 am. The family wants to thank everyone for their support in this difficult time.
