Carolyn Weaver Swain

Carolyn Weaver Swain, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2022. Carolyn was born Corsicana, TX to Billy Joe and Peggy (Thomas) McCulloch, both of whom preceded her in death along with her sons, Matt Weaver and Dwayne Weaver. Carolyn was a ray of sunshine in every room she walked into and her bright smile and wonderful attitude made instant friends of all she met. People were immediately drawn to her down-to-earth personality and love of fun and she made every day an adventure. Carolyn loved to dance and travel and the many places she went, she managed to meet others who, in many instances, became dear friends. She loved the thrill of taking chances and so she could be found at a few tables making a wager or two. She ‘won big’ on Aug. 28, 2018 when she married Perry Swain. They were inseparable in their traveling and just enjoying daily life. Carolyn was a longtime employee of the US Postal Service and worked at the post office in Terrell for many years. She also worked at Able Springs Water Supply office where her customer service skills earned her the respect of her colleges and the appreciation of the residents. In her spare time, Carolyn loved to read western novels and spend time with her precious family making timeless memories. She leaves to hold her memory dear to her husband, Perry Swain of Canton; son, Big John Weaver and wife Brandi; daughter, Davelyn Casbeer and husband, Monty of Corsicana; grandchildren: Carley Casbeer, Tyler Casbeer, Danyale Roberts, Dylan Roberts and wife, Leslie, Daniel “Lil Man” Norrell, Jr.; great grandchildren: Bentley Garrett, Skye Roberts. Carolyn is also survived by her extended family of step children and step grandchildren: Michael Swain and family of Troy, TX, Jordan Swain and family of Troy, TX, Samantha Swain, Gabriel Campos and Toby McGehee of Gatesville, TX; sister, Brenda Jones and husband, Bubba, of Blooming Grove, TX; sister-in-law, Melissa Baker of Virginia; brother-in-law, James Baker, of Georgia as well as nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Funeral service will be at 1:00pm, Monday, Jan. 24, 2022 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Sunday, Jan. 23, at the funeral home.
