    Cathy Cordova

    April 9, 1964 - August 5, 2021

Catherine (Cathy) Cordova, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Aug. 5, 2021 in Dallas. Cathy was born April 9, 1964 in Alice, Texas. From an early age, Cathy had a heart for others and was always known as a caregiver and a trusted person to anyone that met her. She was a shining example of putting others’ needs before her own. She met the love of her life, Alfredo Cordova, where they worked in Terrell and on February 7, 1986, they married. For over 35 years, Cathy and Freddy were inseparable as they raised their family with an abundance of love and laughter. She enjoyed taking care of little ones and, for many years and for many families, Cathy provided snuggles, snacks, games and entertainment to so many children in the Kaufman County area. Her generosity was limitless and she was known to do whatever, whenever she could to help anyone in need. Besides Freddy, the lights of Cathy’s life were her children and, later, her grandchildren. Days spent with family were her favorite days of all. Cathy loved having fun and listening to music and hearing Clay Walker and Elvis made her ever present smile even bigger when she heard them! A beautiful woman whose servant’s heart will always be remembered, Cathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves to carry on her legacy of love to her beloved husband, Freddy Cordova; children: Andrew Cordova and partner, Drew Brown, Steven Cordova and partner, Christine Joles, A.J. Cordova and Lilly Cordova; grandchildren: Landon, Ryan, Leah, Sophia and Jasmine; sister, Rosealie Brown as well as other extended family members and many friends. Funeral service will be at 7:00pm, Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 5:00pm to service time.
