    Freida Simpson

    October 18, 1945 - January 25, 2022

Freida Elliott Simpson, lifetime resident of Terrell, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Jan. 25, 2022. Freida was born October 18, 1945 in Terrell to J.B. and Thelma (Harris) Turner. She was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her parents, her first husband of over 24 years, Wayne Elliott; second husband of over 28 years, Kenneth Simpson; her son, Jesse Elliott, a granddaughter, Toni Hardy and siblings: Tommy Littleton, Carol Ann Simpson, Sheila Cox and Jay Lane Turner. Freida grew up in Terrell and graduated from Terrell High School. She married Wayne Elliott and together they had 24 years of great memories until his passing. She then found love again with Kenneth Simpson and their 28 years together were blessed with the blending of their families. Freida worked as a dietician with several nursing facilities in the Terrell and Rockwall area where her easy going personality and friendly smile brightened every day for both coworkers and residents. She loved working on computers and had a talent for fashioning family pictures and music with her wonderful creativity and sense of style. A skilled artist, Frieda had an undeniable talent for drawing people and animals and enjoyed making them into cartoons for her family and friends to enjoy. A gentle heart for others and a sweet spirit for all who met her, Freida will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her son, Dennis Elliott and wife Tami; daughter, Kelly Lewis, grandchildren: Cortney Elliott, Tristan Clark, Kendell Clark, Jennifer Kline, Zach Kline, Kody Lewis, Branden Lewis, Draven Lewis, Cody Roberts, Chris Roberts, Stephanie Bice, and Kalii Linder ; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Pearson as well as several extended family members and a host of friends. Freida’s family will receive friends 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel. Committal service and interment will be at 10:30am, Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 in LANE THREE (3) at Dallas/Ft Worth National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with Kenneth.
