Glenda Killian Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenda Sue Dudley Killian passed away July 29, 2022. Glenda, the daughter of the late V. A. and Tommie Dudley, was born in Terrell, Texas, October 1, 1940. She attended Poetry Community and Terrell schools. She was a faithful member of the Camp Ground Cumberland Presbyterian Church and, later, the First United Methodist Church of Terrell. For 48 years she was actively involved in the work of her church. Some of her many services were acting as the wedding coordinator, ordering and displaying flowers, setting up communion, and coordinating meals for church functions. She was also a faithful member of the choir and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class for almost five decades. In addition she served as the secretary-treasurer for Camp Ground Cemetery for 42 years. On November 26, 1958, Glenda married Wesley D. Killian, and they made their home in Terrell. In 1964 they welcomed the birth of their son, Todd Wesley. She is survived by her husband, Wesley D. Killian of Terrell; her son Todd Killian and his wife Terrei of Terrell; three grandchildren, Madison Killian Ware and husband Mason of Wills Point, Walker Killian of Terrell, and Whitnei Price and husband Josh of Heath; great grandchildren Harper Ware and Tillie Price. She is also survived by two sisters Robby McGinnis and husband Noble of Sugar Land and Lea Ann Cooper and husband Johnny of Terrell; her sisters-in-law Alberta Smith and Shirley Cookston and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Glenda’s great love for her church and her total devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt will never be forgotten. We will forever cherish our memories of her willingness to help any and every one however she could. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Terrell at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022 with Rev. Pete McNabb and Rev. George Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Ground Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church (503 West College, Terrell, TX 75160) or to Camp Ground Community Cemetery (P.O. Box 369, Terrell, TX 75160).
