    June 12, 1942 - July 30, 2020

    Helen Turlington Chalk of Forney, Texas, age 78, passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on July 30, 2020. She was born on June 12, 1942 in Malakoff, Texas to late Colonel Crockett and Willie Allene (Watkins) Turlington. She married her Babe, Billy Frank Chalk, in October of 1974. Helen was a woman with a noble heart who loved her family with all of her being, she leaves behind a family that she was very proud of. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt and was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Forney. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She always looked forward to Christmas and her family reunions. Family and friends were Helen’s passion and delight. Helen joined her heavenly family, mother and father, older sister Lorene Cliver, twin sister Hazel Fultz and nephew Richard Sutton. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Billy; her children Jim Johnson, his wife Kris, Casstown Ohio, Janet Johnson, her partner Monique, Prosper Texas, Barbara Hanna and husband Mark, Dallas Texas, Brenda Teaford, husband Gary, Garland Texas, and Bobby Chalk, Tyler Texas; grandchildren, Amber Johnson, St. Paris Ohio, Emily Stine and husband AJ, Conover Ohio, Avery Johnson, Greenville Texas, Garrett Johnson, Wylie Texas, Emma Grace Aguilera, Prosper Texas, Jeff Chalk, Garland Texas, Jessica Wander and husband Chris, Garland Texas; great grandchildren, Charles Emery Stine, Conover Ohio, Sydney, Ravin, and Kira Chalk, all of Garland Texas; sisters, Allene Sutton, Gun Barrel City Texas, Nelda Washam and husband Tubby, Kaufman Texas. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 at First Baptist Church. 1003 College St.. Forney, TX. Interment will be at 2:30pm, at Post Oak Cemetery in Cross Roads, TX (just outside of Malakoff). The family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Forney. In lieu of sending flowers, the family has requested donations be made to American Heart Association.
