    Jimmy Alsup Jr.

    October 12, 1968 - April 23, 2022

Jimmy Oliver Alsup, Jr., passed in the presence of his family on April 23, 2022. He was born in Mesquite, Texas, to Jimmie Oliver Alsup, Sr. and Ellner Rae Bigham on October 12, 1968. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Caldwell, brother-in-law Johnny, Uncle Buster, and Uncle John. Throughout Jimmy’s life, he served faithfully with College Mound Fire Department and Kaufman Fire Department for many years. His strong work ethic and dedication to service was easily seen by the communities he served and protected. During his selfless career, Jimmy was publicly recognized for his saving two lives during a structure fire. He also worked for 20 years as an animal control officer with the City of Kaufman while volunteering with the fire department. Jimmy’s commitment to his community was rivaled only by his commitment to his family life. He married the love of his life and best friend, Michelle Keltner, on May 12, 1988. During their 34 years of marriage, they were blessed with two daughters, Angela and Kathy, each of whom were the light of Jimmy’s eyes. His favorite days were spent with his family, together making memories that each will cherish forever. Jimmy leaves his legacy of unconditional love to his beloved wife, Michelle Alsup, of Kaufman; daughters, Angela Alsup of Kaufman, Kathy King and husband, Tyler, of Kaufman; granddaughter, Scarlett King; aunts: Martha Bigham, of Waco, TX, and Mary of Tyler, TX, as well as many other extended family and a host of friends who will miss him greatly. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the Kaufman County Cowboy Church in Kaufman, Texas.
