    Julie Helen Owen Noordsy

    September 24, 1970 - March 6, 2021

Julie Helen Owen Noordsy passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Julie was born on September 24, 1970, in Dallas, Texas to Joe and Gayle Blasius Owen. She is survived by her son, Teague Noordsy, her daughter, Sloan Noordsy, her mother, Gayle Owen of Sunnyvale and her sister, Kathy Owen Brown and brother-in-law, Chris Brown of Sunnyvale. She is also survived by her aunt, great aunt and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Owen, her brother, Paul Owen and grandparents. Julie began her college career at Baylor University and graduated from Texas A&M University- Commerce with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree. She began her career with Mesquite ISD as a teacher in 1995 and later was a testing coordinator and district data specialist until her death. She loved being an educator and loved her co-workers and students as well as her many other friends. Julie was known for her positive, uplifting and encouraging personality. Many of her friends describe her as “lighting up a room with her smile and personality.” Julie’s faith in God and her family were priorities in her life. Julie was a member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a child at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church where she made many lifelong friends. She felt God blessed her greatly by giving her Teague and Sloan as her children. She loved her children so much and was so proud of them. They were truly the love and joy of her life. A Memorial Service celebrating Julie’s life will be held in Truett Chapel at First Baptist Church of Dallas on Thursday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet visitors immediately following the service. There will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, if desired, to assist with education expenses for Teague and Sloan Noordsy. An account has been set up at American National Bank of Terrell with Kathy Owen Brown as Administrator for the benefit of Teague and Sloan Noordsy. If contributing, please send donations to the attention of Mary Spears at American National Bank, 102 W. Moore Ave., Terrell, TX 75160 or contact her at [email protected] or 214-863-6550 for additional information. The family respectfully requests that masks be worn to the service for continued precaution.
