Lillian Maurine Hudgins, the most caring mother of 4 girls, loving wife to Mickey Ray Hudgins for 48 years, sibling to 10 brothers and sisters and 7 step brothers and sisters/cousins, closed her eyes here on earth for the last time on March 25, 2021. She was born to Lula Lee Burchfield Starnes and George Henry Starnes on October 31,1930 in Dallas, Texas. She also had a loving step father/her uncle James William Weeks who stepped in to help raise her and her siblings. There are so many who will miss her laughter, her love of family gatherings, playing games, telling jokes (the clean ones and maybe a little muddy one now and then.) watching her favorite game shows on T.V. and singing her favorite songs (which she did until the end). She also loved gardening, cooking loved ones their favorite foods, pies, cakes, dressing and Oh yeah, she once even broiled a Thanksgiving turkey (on low heat of course) all night long....now that was a wee different Thanksgiving .... We all still got plenty to eat and everyone had a wonderful gathering, we played games and departed in love, laughter, and hugs! She loved going to the Texas State Fair every year, eating a Fletcher's corny dog, and walking through every building. She loved visiting family and friends. Going to our yearly cookie exchange, eating, exchanging cookies and having a great time playing fun games ! She even went zip lining in her late 70's. She loved BIG! If you were blessed enough to know her and love her, You received that much and more back! She was a giver, a helper and a hard worker. She took care of her husband, her mother and one of her daughters until their last breath here on earth. She was calm and fragile yet strong and fierce, she was tiny yet never gave up, even on huge obstacles such as fixing the lawn mower or changing out a van battery that weighed over 40 pounds. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were hers and they were treated as her own. She raised a granddaughter Stacey Hummel and lived with her and her husband, Scott, for the past 12 &1/2 years. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter Sandra Mahaffey & husband David, Granddaughter, Stacey Hummel & husband Scott, 11 Grandchildren: Michael Mahaffey (wife Brenda), David Mahaffey Jr (wife Kelly), Amy Mahaffey-Knoll (husband Jeff), Christie Matthews, Johnny Hassell (Guy), Veronica Turner (husband David), Angela Neyra and Sharee Acosta, James Gilbert "Tiger" (wife Joy); 27 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way; 2 sisters and 1 brother, Shirley Mayes, Gwyndon McCormick & James Weeks, 1 Step sister Jeraldeen Fain.
