    Linda Harwell Jones

    April 11, 1942 - October 23, 2019

Linda Harwell Jones, of Canton and formerly of Terrell, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 23, 2019 with family at her side. Linda was born April 11, 1942 in Terrell to Nelson and Essie (Brantley) Harwell, both of whom welcomed her into Heaven along with her husband, Jerry Jones, daughter, Jennifer Jones and sister, Betty Bledsoe. Linda graduated from Terrell High School in 1960 and worked for, and retired from, Titus/ASC. She was an active and faithful member of Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ until her health began to decline. She loved to shop and felt very blessed to be able to buy little gifts for herself and her family. Linda also loved to cook and her special recipes and delicious creations made many family gatherings better. She loved to spend time with family catching up and being able to show each of them how much she loved them all. A true Southern lady with love, grace and hospitality, Linda will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Linda is survived by her daughter Julie Jones Rumbo of Canton; grandchildren: Shanna Morris and husband, Heath, of Martins Mill, Jeremy Williamson of Forney, and Ashley Williamson of Forney; great grandchildren: Mackenzie Crow, John Garrett Crow, Alyssa Crow and Henlee Morris; sisters: Margaret Mathis of Waxahachie, Janie Jones and husband, Jim, of Mesquite, and Kay Meeks of Edgewood; brother, Grant Harwell and wife, Rosemary, of Canton as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Monday, October 28, 2019 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Highland Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the funeral home.
